I sat with her for a little while longer as everyone else went out to either get some air or some sleep. I, on the other hand, made a promise to myself that I wasn't going to leave her again. I wouldn't be able to live with myself if I did.

Suddenly, Lily sighed and lay her head back so that it was resting on my shoulder. I had already had my arm held around her, holding her close to me.

"I need...a vacation." She mumbled and I watched as she turned her head so that she was looking up at me. I wanted to say something, to comfort her, to let her know that everything was gonna be okay, but the thought of alomst losing her was making it hard for me to concentrate. "For the weekend." She continued and coughed out a weak laugh.

"Yeah." I finally manage to say, nodding my head.

"You ever been to Amicalola Falls? Tallest waterfall in Georgia." I shook my head. The truth was I'd never been out of Georgia, but that was the one place I never got to see. I didn't get to see a lot of things riding around with Merle and doing what we did before all this. Maybe that could be different now. "My dad took me there a couple years after my mum...it's one of the happiest memories I have of back then...being with my dad...When we were up there, all the way at the top, looking down, I felt like I was flying." She told me and I was relieved to see a meaningful smile appear on her face, but I could see the tears in her eyes.

"Your dad was a good man." I replied and kissed her forehead.

She went quiet then and turned her head away, so that she was now facing the wall, but I felt her begin to tremble in my arms. "Hey." I whispered giving her arm a squeeze.

She then turned back to face me and I watched as a tear rolled down her cheek. "Daryl it's not fair." She cried. "My dad should be here, but someone took that away from him. He could've made it because...I did and I'm still here..." She stopped and another tear rolled down her face. "A few days ago we were gonna have a baby...and now...that's gone too."

"It's not your fault." I sighed and kissed the top of her head again as I held her close and let her cry into my chest. That baby, our baby, was gonna be a fresh start for me and it meant a lot, but, right here, right now, Lily means a hell of a lot more. "Look, I'm gonna catch whoever did that to your dad and the others, and I'm gonna kill 'em."

The two of us then sat there in silence for a while and I was so lost in thought, watching Lily, making sure she was alright that I didn't see Briana appear in the doorway.

"I got you some water." She smiled and handed Lily a bottle of water.

"Thank you." She nodded and took a sip.

"Rick wanted to talk to you about something." Briana told me. "He's in C block."

"He say what about?" I asked.

Briana just shook her head. "No."

I sighed knowing that Rick wouldn't send Briana down to get me if what he had to say wasn't important. He knew I was down here and he knew I wasn't gonna leave her after what happened if it wasn't something I needed to know.

I sat there for a moment longer before I looked down at Lily. she knew what I was thinking and just nodded her head. "I'll be fine."

I knew I couldn't keep Rick waiting so I nodded. "I'll be right back." I kissed the top of her head again and stood up.

I then began making my way out of the cell block and down to C, where Briana told me Rick was waiting. Sure enough he was stood waiting outside mine and Lily's cell with his head in his hands, leaning agaonst the railing.

"Rick." I called over to him. He looked up and sighed before he walked over towards me. "What's up?" I asked.

For a moment he didn't say anything. He just looked at me as if he was trying to find the words and work out what to say. He then took a deep breath and began speaking. "It's about Carol."
