As soon as I walked out of the room I found that a couple of the others did the same. I never really liked Andrea all that much so I didn't plan on sticking around to talk. It was clear how we felt about one another back on the farm and I wasn't going to give her any special treatment. Especially with her being with Woodbury. Maybe the only reason she was really here was to get information from us.
I was broken from thought as I heard Judith's cries echoing through the cell block. No one else was around so I walked up the stairs and picked her up. I then began rocking her, a little, in my arms until she calmed down.
After a minute or two, Tyler made his way up the stairs and stopped next to me. I glanced up at him then back to Judith. "What's with you and that redneck?" He snarled.
"Excuse me!" I snapped and lifted my head to look at him. "What's that supposed to mean?"
He just shrugged his shoulders. "I thought we had something. You and me."
"Seriously?" Huffed, shaking my head. "You left me, or did you forget that part? I moved on. If you for a second thought that things would just go back to the way they were before, then you're wrong."
"I don't know what you see in him." He laughed.
"And who are you to tell me how to feel?" I snarled. "I'll admit, yeah, I put my neck on the line for you and Merle when Glenn wanted to hand you both over to the Governor. That's not because I have the same feelings as I had before. You know how the Governor works and we can use that against him."
Tyler just shook his head and crossed his arms. "I bet you're with him because you just want to get back at me. What is this? Some kind of revenge?"
As he spoke, Judith started mumbling again and I could feel myself becoming rather frustrated, at his words, as I rocked her. "You have no idea what I've been through and do you really think I'd get with Daryl to get back at you? You're pathetic. He was one of the only people who welcomed me into the group after you took off. I didn't know what to do when he left with you and Merle. It almost killed me." I snapped.
"It wouldn't have had to be that way if you'd come with me. You've changed. You're not the same weak little girl-" He suddenly stopped as Andrea started walking up the stairs towards us.
She looked like she'd been crying or something. "I can't leave without meeting little ass-kicker. I hope I'm not disturbing anything." She forced a smile.
"No. Tyler was just leaving." I replied.
Tyler knew from the look on my face that I wanted him to leave me the hell alone so without anything else said he walked away and Andrea took his place. "May I hold her?" Her voice cracked with tears as she looked at Judith.
I nodded and as I handed her over, I'd never see a bigger smile on Andrea's face. "Oh, look at you." Andrea spoke down softly to Judith. The smile printed on her face. "Let me guess. Daryl named her ass-kicker?" I couldn't help but let out a smile and laugh. "That's not really her name."
"Judith." I smiled.
"Hi Judith. Oh, how precious are you?" She smiled and swayed. "What happened to Lori?"
"During a C-section. Maggie. Carl had to-"
"Oh my god." Andrea interrupted and looked back at Judith.
"Tdog died leading me and Carol to safety." I managed to force the words from my mouth.
"And Shane?" Andrea's eyes met mine.
I took a deep breath knowing how fond of Shane she was and began speaking. "I killed him." Andrea's face dropped. "The night we left the farm. That whole Randall thing was a lie. I saw Shane leave the farm but he wasn't alone. I watched him kill that kid and bumped into him and Rick on my way back. Shane then tried to kill Rick with gun pointed to my head. He was going to kill Daryl and anyone else who was willing to stand in his way. I had no choice."
"Shane loved Rick. Why Daryl?" She questioned.
"Shane loved Lori. Shane loved me. He was gonna do what ever it took to get what he wanted." I sighed.
"Rick's become cold. Unsteady." Andrea looked back down at Judith.
"He has his reasons. I mean can you really blame him?" I turned my head slightly to the side to see Tyler watching us. "The Governor, you need to do something." I changed the subject, knowing how we could end this war.
Andrea handed Judith back to me. "I am."
"No, you need to sleep with him." Andrea's head snapped up at my words. "Give him the greatest night of his life. You get him to drop his guard. Then when he's sleeping, you can end this."
For a moment Andrea just stood silent looking down at Judith. I didn't know if she was thinking about it or not but she didn't answer me.
Before either of us could say another word, Beth came up the stairs with a bottle. I handed Judith over to her and both Andrea and I made our way outside. Glenn was already driving out of the next area in an old dusty car with the others gathered in the courtyard.
Once parked, Carl handed Andrea her bag and she turned and looked at us all. "Can you spare it?" She gestured to the car.
Rick looked at it and then back at Andrea. "Yeah."
She then looked around at us all again and I nodded at her. She knew what I was nodding for. "Well, take care." She sat in the car and put her bag onto the passenger seat.
"Andrea." Rick stopped her. He handed her a knife and a gun. "Be careful."
"You too." She nodded
As Andrea drove the car slowly down to the gate we all followed on behind slowly with our guns to hand. Merle ran off ahead of us all and opened the gate and as he did I made my way over to Daryl. He didn't say anything. He just wrapped his fingers around mine as Andrea drove away. Merle then closing the gate behind her, kicking a few walkers away in the process.
"Come on." Daryl whispered and nudged my arm to follow him.
As we all made our way back into the cell block and I couldn't help but think about what I'd said to Andrea. I don't think any of it sunk in but I doubt, if it had, she'd go through with it. We've not really got on very well in the past, so why would she listen to me? Why now?
I hadn't realised until now that Daryl was still holding onto my hand as we stopped in the cell block. It was then that I caught Tyler staring at the both of us over the other side of the room. "Tyler thinks there's still something between me and him." I huffed.
"Just tell me if he does anything. I'll beat his ass into the ground." Daryl snarled, lifting his head to look over at Tyler.
"Yes sir." I saluted mockingly. We both laughed and walked over to join the others.
We stood next to Hershal as Carl took out a gun and went out on watch. He was doing his part but he's still just a kid and that's easy to forget. It was then that I noticed Briana, Tyler and Merle all looking over at both Daryl and I. From the look on both Tyler and Merle's faces, they weren't impressed that we were holding hands. As for Briana, she had that smile on her face that she always wears to lift people's spirits, and I have to say, it seemed to be working.
Everyone's changed since we left the farm. Grown more mature. Even Carl's started to think more like an adult. We need to stay strong for one another if we have any chance of preparing for what ever comes next.
