It got dark after a while and we were all silent, eating some squirrel that Daryl had been out to hunt. It wasn't much but it was nice. It reminded me of that first night in the field. The only difference now being that some of our family were gone and we had a large problem on our doorstep.

After a little while Daryl, Hershal and I moved to lean up against the wall next to the cells. As for Briana, Beth and Carol, they stayed sitting on the ground as Maggie and Glenn went and sat on the steps. My dad, Jace and Michonne were sat near us and Merle and Tyler were in the other room. Rick walking around holding Judith. Carl still outside keeping watch. All of us silent.

"They hung a sign up in our town. If you live up, you won't live it down." Beth smiled and began singing. I knew that song well but just listened to her sweet voice as she sang and tapped her knee. "So she left Monte Rio son. Just like a bullet leaves a gun. With charcoal eyes and Monroe hips. She went and took the California trip. Well, the moon was gold and her hair like wind. Said don't look back now, just come on Jim. You got to hold on, hold on. You go to hold on. Take my hand, I'm standing right here, you got to hold on."

Her singing caused everyone to look up and smile a little. Even Merle and Tyler both came from the common room and leaned up against the wall. Rick also with a smile on his face as he came and stood with Daryl, Hershal and myself as Beth continued singing.

"Well, he gave her a dime store watch, and a ring made from a spoon. Everyone's looking for someone to blame. If you share my bed, you share my name. Go ahead and call the cops..."

I was pulled away from Beth's singing as Daryl started to whisper somthing to us all. "Some reunion, huh?" He whispered.

"She's in a jam." Rick looked up from Judith.

"We all are." Hershal nodded, looking like he was falling to sleep standing where he was. "Andrea's persuasive. This fella's armed to the teeth. Bent on distruction."

"So what do you want to do?" I asked.

"We match it. I'm going on a run." Rick replied.

"I'll head out tomorrow." Daryl agreed.

Rick shook his head. "No, you stay here. Keep an eye on your brother and Tyler. I'm glad you're both back, really, but if they cause a problem, it's on you." Rick looked over to the two men hovering in the door way.

"I got 'em." Daryl nodded.

"I'll take Michonne." Rick told us.

"You sure that's a good idea?" Daryl looked over to her.

"I'll find out." Rick nodded. "And you and Carl. Michonne seems to trust you." Rick nodded his head towards me. "Carl's ready. You hold it down here."

"You got it." Daryl nodded and I agreed. We all then turned back to Beth's singing.

"...When there's nothing left to keep you here, when you're falling behind this big blue world. You got to hold on. Hold on. Got to hold on. Take my hand I'm standing right here, you got to hold on."

Beth then finished singing and looked around at us all, looking as happy as she could be. As she did my dad stood up and picked up his gun. He then walked over to me. "I'm gonna go keep watch, honey. Get some rest." He kissed my forehead and walked outside before anything else could be said.

The room went quiet as my dad left but after a minute or two Carl came back inside. He looked at me then to Rick and Judith. He didn't say anything, he just came over and stood next to me and lent up against the wall.

It didn't take too long before I started yawning and I could feel myself nodding off, standing where I was. "You should get some rest." Daryl put his arm over my shoulder. I slowly turned my head to look at him. "You're going to need it if you're going on the run with Rick."
