"Yeah."

At Rick's reply, we all stood silently, staring at him with confused expressions on our faces. Rick had never been one to go out of his way to help strangers after the farm, especially ones who'd shoot to kill. If this was any normal situation, they'd already be dead. It didn't matter who they were.

"Why?" Carl asked on behalf of us all.

Rick just shook his head and looked at the man, before standing up. "He saved me. Right at the start, after I woke up in the hospital. Told me what was going on, and in some ways, helped me to get back to you and your mum..." He stopped for a moment as he placed his hand on Carl's shoulder. I knew why. It didn't take a genius to work out that he didn't want to talk or remind himself about Lori.

Instead he just took a moment and looked down at Carl. "Carl, stay here. You keep your eye on him." He nodded his head down to the man before looking at Michonne and I. "You two come with me."

Neither Michonne nor I argued as we follwed on behind Rick, leaving Carl with the man. If it were down to me, I would't have given this stranger the time of day, whether he was a friend or not, especially after shooting me. I was lucky that the bullet just grazed my shoulder and that the bleeding had stopped. At least it meant I wouldn't need stitches.

"Keep an eye out for booby traps. Looks like he's been pretty creative so far." Rick said as we approached the building where the man had currently been standing on the roof.

Both Michonne and I looked at one another for a second before she turned back to Rick. I had a feeling me and her shared the same views. "I thought we were just gonna get in and get the hell out of here?" She questioned.

"I'm not leaving him on the street." Rick shook his head.

Michonne did the same as she continued speaking. "I know you said he helped you-"

"He saved my life." Rick interrupted, finishing her sentence. "He wasn't like this then." He looked towards Carl before turning to the windows of the building. "Jesus, he had a son."

As the words left his mouth, I found myself staring into the windows of the building. "You think he's in there?" I asked.

Rick didn't answer. He just looked at me with a saddened expression and started walking forward, ducking under the spikes that blocked the path. Michonne and I following on behind slowly.

"Don't." Michonne suddenly spat at Rick. I looked up to see that he was just about to step on a welcome mat. "You said booby traps." She continued.

Rick shuffled back slightly and lifted the mat to reveal a pit with spikes sticking up from underneath. "Thank you."

"Let's just get him inside and go." I sighed. I didn't want to stick around with so many traps all over the place. We came here for guns, not to get killed by some asshole. Luckily, I didn't have any argument from Rick and Michonne as they made their way back to me and the three of us headed back down towards Carl.

Once there, both Michonne and Rick picked up the man and instructed both Carl and I to follow on behind with our guns raised. There was no argument from me but I still didn't see why we couldn't just leave this man on the street. It wasn't like the walkers were going to get to him with all the traps.

I let the thought go as we manovered around the welcome mat and made our way towards some stairs. That's when I saw another message at the top. 'NOT SHITTING YOU.'

"Woah!" I suddenly heard Rick snap at Michonne. I then watched as she moved her leg back but I couldn't see what from. The pair of them stepping through, moving the sheet covering the door frame. A bloody axe hanging at the top of the stairs.
