Run.
That's all we've done all winter. From the point we were forced to leave the farm, to Norman's death, to now. I guess I'm just glad that it didn't snow very much this winter. There were only a couple flakes here and there back at the ware house. That was it, but there was no way I was denying that it's not been freezing.
However, the winter wasn't all bad. We'd managed to find a couple more guns and along with some silencers that we split up beteeen us. We'd also found another car, finally. As much as I liked riding with Todg, it was nice to have our own space. That way we weren't all squashed together and it was much easier for if we had to mae a quick get away. Our only problem was food. Havig no where to make our own was a problem as it made our survival a lot harder than it needed to be.
Other than that, Lori looked like she was ready to pop any day now and we've all noticed that Rick seems to keep his distance from her after everything that happened with me and Shane. As for everyone else, they all just keep to themselves and only seem to speak out when there's a decision to be made. I've also kept my distance from Daryl and the pair of us haven't said a word to one another since what happened. It honestly didn't really bother me as much as I thought it would because I didn't really want to talk to him. I just wanted to focus my mind on surviving and prove to the others that I'd come out of what ever dark place I went to.
I was snapped from my thoughts as I heard a rustle in the trees. I quickly pulled my gun up and began slowly edging my way over. I jumped back as quick as I pulled my gun up as two birds flew from the trees startling me. I let out a sigh of relief and couldn't help but smile at my stupidity.
I then returned to the others and we all remained silent whilst Rick, Daryl, Tdog, Glenn, Maggie and Carl went into a new house that we'd found. Carl's grown a lot more mature over these past months. He's not that little boy he was on the farm. He's more like us adults than just a kid. As for Tdog, he's like the brother I never had. Ever since he spoke to me back up on that rooftop, the pair of us have been getting a lot closer. I know that when ever either of us has a problem we always turn to the other for advice.
Afer a while, Rick came back out of the house and stood in the door way. He then whistled to the rest of us, signaling it was clear, so we began to move the bags from the cars into the house. Though I don't think we'll be staying here for too long.
As we walked in, Glenn and Maggie were moving the bodies next to the stair case out of the way and the others were walking around just giving it another once over. No one spoke as Tdog went into the back room and kept watch whilst the rest of us, apart from Daryl and Carl, sat in the living room in silence. I don't think anyone knew what to say.
Daryl walked in a couple minutes after with a dead owl in his hands. Without a word from anyone, he walked over and sat down in the corner of the room, plucking the bird of its feathers. As he did Rick then stood up and looked around at us all before he turned back towards the window. Just seconds after, Carl walked in holding two cans.
He sat down and placed both cans on the floor in front of him before pulling out a can opener. I then watched as he placed the opener ontop of one of the cans and began to open it. As he did, Rick turned from the window to look at him. He had a rather cold expression on his face as he walked over and snatched the can from Carl. That's when I saw what was on the lable. Dog food.
Rick threw the can into the fire place and we all just sat and watched. Carl with a rather disappointed expression on his face. Daryl also stared at him for a moment and before too long, then went back to plucking his owl. We're all exhausted and by the look on Lori's face she was the worst out of us all. I can't say how long we can keep this up for. Even if we did have the dog food, that and an owl wouldn't go round us all. Even if we had the smallest piece.
