As Briana and I made our way into our cell, the two of us just sat down on Briana's bunk. It was peaceful and I think the both of us just sat there and enjoyed the moment. I know I was. We didn't know how many of those we'd get.

"I was thinking." Briana broke the silence. "Now Hershal's awake we could maybe go into town and find some crutches." Briana suggested.

"Yeah." I agreed and looked over to her with a smile. "It'll give us some time together away from everyone else."

When it comes down to Briana and I, the two of us haven't really had a chance to do something together since we found each other all those months ago. Though partly that's my fault as I've been running off with the others, trying to help them. But even if we were just getting crutches we would at least be together. We haven't had enough girl time to sit together and chill. It was long overdue.

"Thank you." I turned my head to look at her again.

"Thank you, for what?" She replied.

"For saving Hershal. Being there for me. My best friend." I smiled. "I don't think I've said it before."

She shook her head and giggled but before she said anything we gave each other a large hug. "Look, I did what I could with Hershal, and with Lori and Carol's help he's awake. We just have to see where that takes us. But if we're being all soppy now, thank you. For sticking with me. I mean, I'm no angel when it comes down to my moods but you seem to cope with them well enough." She giggled. I couldn't help but laugh with her. The two of us weren't really experts in the whole soppy shit.

For a moment the room went quiet as our giggles settled. That was until Briana spoke up again. "Daryl told me that you collapsed in the tombs. Went unconscious for a while."

"Yeah. I'm fine now." I sighed. "Believe it or not, it was one of the prisoners that stopped me hitting the floor."

"Yeah. Daryl said that. Said he wanted to shoot a bolt right through his skull because he thought he'd hurt you." She stopped for a moment and sighed. "He does care for you, you know. I think he just wants things to be alright between the two of you."

"Briana, I've heard all of this already from Tdog. He said that Daryl was pissed. But that prisoner didn't touch me. I can promise you that. We don't need anyone else to die who doesn't need to." I sighed and looked out of the cell door to see Daryl laying down on the perch, twisting an arrow between his fingers. "All I've wanted since that night back at the ware house was for things to be alright between us. Hell, sometimes it is but there's always that echo of what he said to me. I-"

"Alright, enough." She interrupted putting her hand on my shoulder. "If that's how you feel then that's fine. But think of it as baby steps. Even if don't get back together, at least you can work on just being friends again."

I couldn't help but laugh at the awkwardness of the conversation. Briana was right, but I couldn't let her know that. She'd never let me live it down. "And when did our conversation turn to Daryl?" I laughed.

Briana rolled her eyes and laughed with me. "What are we? High school kid talking about boys." She nodded. That's pretty much how if felt. "Anyway, I think I'm gonna get some sleep. You should too if we're going on that run tomorrow. Who knows what we'll find."

I rolled my eyes and giggle again. "Yes mum." Briana just copied my gestures and lay her head down on her pillow.

As she did, I stood up and climbed up to my bunk. I then lay down and said good night, looking up at the ceiling. Her voice sleepily doing the same. Talking to Briana always makes me feel better. The two of us can talk about anything for god knows how long. Not that I'm complaining. But as I lay there, I couldn't help but think about her brother.
