"We don't have enough ammo for everyone." I spoke up truthfully, looking around at the group. "Carl and Oscar'll come with me. Glenn, Maggie, you go together and get those supplies. Food, ammo, formula and whatever else you can find. The rest of you stay here and watch out for Little Ass-Kicker." I stopped and waited for a reply. No one said anything. "Alright. We don't know what we're gonna find down there so go get your shit and meet back here in five."

From what I could tell, no one seemed to dislike my plan, so that was what we were doing. I mean, if Rick wasn't in the right frame of mind then someone had to be. That way we can get shit done and make sure that baby girl is alive and kicking. The last thing we want is for any walkers lurking around down there to make it into the cell block.

After five minutes had passed I waited by the door with my crossbow in hand and my knife in my belt. All I had to do now was wait for the others to get down here so we could go. I think I made the right choice on who to bring down here with me but out of the corner of my eye I could see Briana shaking her head. Little did she know, I needed her here. She knew how to protect herself so she'd be the best to stand on guard and get everyone out I there was a problem. Hopefully, not that there'd be one.

As soon as everyone was back, I led them all into the tombs, going deeper into the prison, David closing the cell block door as we went. Glenn and Maggie then broke off to go their seperate way, heading out. All we could do was hope they got the shit we needed and got back before we had to go looking.

We hadn't gone to far when a door started opening by itself. "Check it out man. Rick must've missed it last night." Oscar pointed his torch towards the door. It opened again.

"It's probably just one or two of 'em. Don't look like they got much fight." I pushed the door slightly with my finger and it opened again. The walker laying on the ground in front of it stopping it from freeing what ever was inside. "They ain't going no where. We'll take care of it on the way back." I muttered and continued walking. If needs be I can get it afterwards, once I've gotten Carl back to the others.

That's when I spotted that Carl had stopped. He was looking down another hallway, almost in a trance. I whistled over to him and moved my head slightly. "Come on." I spoke soflty.

He did as I said and rejoined Oscar and I as we continued making our way down the tunnels. It was obvious that he was upset about Lori. She was his mother after all. And a part if me deep down hated seeing the empty look on his face. His mum was dead and his dad out of it. That was enough to drive a kid down.

"You know, my mom, she liked her wine. She liked to smoke in bed. Virginia Slims." I told him before I even realised what I was doing. Carl then looked over at me as I peered into another slightly open door. This one was empty. "I was playing out with kids in the neighbourhood. I could do that with Merle gone. They had bikes, I didn't. We heard sirens getting louder. They jumped on their bikes, ran after it, you know, hoping to see something worth seeing. I ran after them, but I couldn't keep up. I ran round a corner and saw my friends looking at me. Hell, I saw everybody looking at me. Fire trucks everywhere. People from the neighbourhood. It was my house they were there for. It was my mom in bed, burnt down to nothing." I stopped and looked at Carl. "That was the hard part, you know? She was just gone. Erased. Nothing left of her. People said it was better this way. I don't know. Just made it seem like it wasn't real, you know?" I finished.

I looked around the next corner. Still no walkers. "I shot my mom." Carl spoke finally. "She was out. Hadn't turned yet. I ended it. It was real." He continued. I could see that it was a weight lifted from his chest. I can't imagine what that must've been like. Especially a kid. "Sorry about your mom." For a moment I was taken back. No one had ever said that to me before. He was the first.
