Ever since what happened out on the hospital run with Harry and Dara, things have changed. I know that Rick blames himself for not seeing through Harry's lies and sending him out there with us. Because of that, he no longer makes many decisions for the group. It's now down to council who run this place. That consists of myself, Sasha, Maggie, Glenn, Carol, Briana, Hershal and Daryl and Michonne when they're around. So far it seems to be working.

During our time running the prison, we've also cleared out the shower block along with a few other cell blocks. With that, we've also made a way of getting water from the creak outside the prison without us having to go outside the fences. The fences and front gate being the next on our long list of things we needed to do to get this place up and running smoothly.

What also helps is that, when we were out on that hospital run, Tyler had also picked up a prosthetic leg for Hershal. It took him a few days to get used to it, but now he's able to go out on his own and do things for himself. It's heart warming to see and it's almost as if he never got bit and lost his leg at all.

As for Tyler and I, I'm surprised to find that we're slowly working on rebuilding our friendship. He still has a long way to go, but I've noticed that I'm not so uncomfortable around him anymore than what I had been. Before the run, I could barely be in the same room with him and now we were just chatting as if nothing ever happened. However, as much as he's been getting his hands dirty in becoming part of the group, I still don't trust him and I don't know if that's just because of our past together or if he's leading up to something. Either way, I had to keep an eye on him for the sake of the group.

As a council, one of the bigger decisions we'd made was opening up the possibility to take people in. We of course had to talk to Rick, which Hershal voluntarily did, but he agreed. With all these extra cell blocks were clearing out, it makes sense to welcome in new people. However, we've also decided that before we let anyone else through our gates, they have to answer three simple questions.

How many walkers have you killed?

How many people have you killed?

Why?

I think it's pretty smart. If we're going to turn this place into a community, we need to know who people are to avoid another Harry situation. With this way of running things, I was surprised when Rick began bringing in a lot of new people when he went out to check his traps. With Daryl out with Michonne, we couldn't always rely on him going out and hunting, so Rick took it upon himself to set up some traps around the area. So far hed bought back a handul of squirrels and rabbits and a boar. At the least, it was enough to keep everyone fed.

As for everyone else, they've just been doing their part to help get the prison up and running. With the bed sheets we collected, people have a lot more privacy inside their cells. Even Beth and Karen are working together to inventory what we have as well as keeping up with how many days we've gone without any accidents. So far we've gone sixteen days.

The next thing we have planned is to clear the walkers in the field so that we can grow our own food. That way, it's a lot safer than constantly going out on runs. But in order to even get started, we needed to fix the fences. That was our priority.

Knowing that, I grabbed the set of machetes, which Rick had sent me back inside to go and collect and made my way back out.
Once there, Glenn, Maggie, Rick, Carl and Briana were all waiting by the gate and turned to face me as I made my way over. The five of them then each taking one of the machetes as I pulled my knife from my belt.

"You ready?" Carl asked as he looked up at me, a cheeky grin on his face.

"As I'll ever be." I smiled back and tapped the front of his hat down over his eyes.
