We parked the cars down the road a little ways before we all headed towards the prison fences. We then gathered, watching each other's backs, as Rick picked up some wire cutters and began to cut a hole though the fence. Glenn and I each taking out a walker as we all began to climb through the gap.

Once we were all through, Daryl pushed passed me to join Glenn as the pair of them used some wire to tie the gap together. As they did the walkers from in the field noticed us and started growling, walking towards the fencing on the other side. The fence being the only thing between us and them.

Just as Glenn finished securing the hole a walker rammed itself into the fencing and we all jumped slightly. As we turned back round we saw Rick already making his way down the inside of the fences. The rest of us left to quickly run and catch him up as walkers on both sides of the fences began to push themselves against it, trying to find an arm or a leg to grab as we ran past.

Once we raeched the main guard tower by the front gates, Daryl jogged up in front and pushed it open. We all then gathered in behind him placing our bags onto the ground, where Rick put the bag of guns I'd stolen in the centre.

"It's perfect." Rick muttered to himself. If we can shut that gate, prevent more from filling the yard, we can pick off these walkers. We'll take the field by the night." Rick said looking backwards and forwards between us and the other gate on the far side of the field.

"So how do we shut the gate?" Briana asked.

"I'll do it. You guys cover me." Glenn volunteered himself.

Maggie shook her head and looked at him. "No. It's a suicide run."

"But I'm the fastest." Glenn turned to look back at her.

"No. You, Maggie and Beth draw as many as you can over there. Pop 'em through the fence." Rick pointed to a small area looking into the field. "Daryl and Briana go back to the other tower." He pointed at a guard tower, back in the direction we'd just came from. "Carol, you've become a pretty good shot. Take your time. We don't have a lot of ammo to waste." He then looked at the rest of us he'd yet to assign a job to and turned to Hershal. "Hershal. You, Carl and David take this tower." This now left me, Tdog and Lori still standing in front of him as the others ran to their post so that they were ready. "Tdog go and back up Glenn and the others. Lily and I will run for the gate." He turned to look at me. "You've got my back if anything happens."

"Yeah. Always." I nodded and looked at Lori. I guess she must've been on gate duty.

Both Rick and I each took a gun out of the bag and I began to hear the others yelling and banging on the fences to get the attention of the walkers. With that we would then have a clear path from here to the gate. This plan was going to work. It had to. We didn't have any other choice.

As I readied myself for the sprint across the yard, making sure both my gun and knife were still in my belt as I handed Rick some chains. They were built so that they would clip onto either side of the gates and we'd be able to take them off if we needed. It felt like this prison was already ours and we hadn't even cleared it yet.

Once ready, we made our way over to Lori and I glanced back at my dad who nodded over to me. I returned the gesture before turning back to Rick who was nodding at Lori. She then also returned the gensture as she pulled the gate open and Rick and I slipped through. Lori closing the gate behind us.

We first crept our way around the turned over bus where I pulled my gun up from my belt and pointed it in front of me. Now for the hard part.

Both Rick and I started sprinting towards the gate, killing as many walkers as we could and pushing the ones that got to close away. It was like a rush of adrenaline shot theough me as I pulled my knife out from my belt and started swinging it into the heads of as many as I could. It was strangely enjoyable knowing that the prize at the end would be having a place to stay. To live.

Then Rick tripped over the uneven dirt on the pathway so I turned to help him to his feet. A walker was right behind me and a split second later I watched as one of Daryl's arrows shot through its head, saving me.

Rick nodded a thank you to Daryl as I helped him up and we continued to run towards the gate. Then a bullet bounced off of the ground in front of me and I heard Carol shout something over to us. I think she said sorry.

I made a dash for the gate and got there before Rick did so he tossed me the chains. He then stopped to keep the walkers off of my back.

Just as I started to slide the gate close, a walker stumbled into the gap towards me. I quickly kicked it backwards and it fell onto the ground on the other side of the gate. I then managed to slide the gate close and attach the chain to both the gate and the fence as the walked stood up.

When I turned back around, Rick was stood holding the door open to yet another guard tower just off to the side of the gate I'd just clipped. I quickly ran over with the walkers right behind me where Rick then slammed the door. Almost immediately after, the sound of the growling and banging echoed through the tower. We'd made it.

A ripple of gunfire went off outside and Rick and I ran up the dark stair way to the top of the tower. I then placed both my gun and knife into my belt and pulled the rifle from my back. I was out of breath from the run but it was worth it to see the large smile that appeared on Rick's face as the pair of us joined in with the shooting.

"We did it." He chuckled.

"Yeah...Yeah we did." I chuckled back and continued to aim my gun and take the yard for our own.

Walker after walker we took them down and with one last shot, Rick killed the last one. "Come on." Rick placed his hand on my shoulder and headed back to the hatch.

We then made our way back down the stairs and out of the door back into the field. As we did, the others all came around from the side of the bus, pilling in with Carol up front. "We haven't had this much space since we left the farm." I heard her laugh.

Both Rick and I shared a laugh as we heard the words come from her mouth. She was right though. We hadn't had this much space since the farm and it was ours.

We have fences and maybe we might be able to get into the main building so that we are not as exposed. Finally a place that we could call our own...Hopefully.
