Briana walked over with Judith in her arms and smiled at me. I knew what was about to happen. The moment her eyes caught sight of Tyler standing behind me, the smile disappeared from her face where anger then replaced it. She then began storming over.
"Briana." I raised my hands and shook my head. She just continued snarling at him.
Knowing she wasn't going to stop, I stepped in front of her and stopped her from getting any closer to him. I then offered to take Judith from her as I could see her rage and anger through her eyes. I couldn't risk anything. The last thing we wanted was for anyone to get hurt.
"I got her. You need to calm down." I spoke softly to her as she willingly handed me Judith.
"You son of a bitch." She spat over behind me.
Tyler chuckled. "It's nice to see you to."
Briana stepped forward to try and get around me but I was there first and firmly stood in front of her. One hand on her shoulder and one holding Judith securely. "Go inside." I told her. "Now."
For a moment Briana stood still and didn't break eye contact with Tyler. She then She rolled her eyes angrily and turned back to the cell block. As she did I rocked Judith placing her on my hip and looked back at Tyler before following on behind Briana. Everyone else deciding what it was we were going to do with Merle and Tyler. If it were down to me and Briana, Tyler for sure would be out there on his own.
Once inside, I took my bag off and placed it down on one of the tables with the rifle I was using. I then walked into mine and Briana's cell. "That son of a bitch. He left you and he thinks he can come back here, acting as if nothing ever happened." She spat and shook her head.
I walked in and sat down on the bed beside her. Judith was making cute little baby noises that seemed to lift some of the tension. "He saved me, back in Woodbury." Before I could even finish, she snapped her head towards me. "I'm not saying that I forgive him. Hell, its gonna take a lot more than that but I didn't know what to do. Daryl was leaving with his brother. So I went after them. I can't loose him."
"He's still a snake. Lily, I don't know how this is gonna work with him. You for one should know I never liked him. That's not gonna change now." She snapped.
"Yeah, I know and I agree with you." I sighed. "I've moved on. Tyler's in the past. Don't worry. There's no way I'd ever go back to him. The pair of you just need to stay away from one another. Now come and help me feed this little one." I smiled down at Judith as I nudged Briana's arm with mine. Briana forced a smike and nodded to where we then made our way out if our cell.
We walked back into the common room and it was empty. We figured everyone was still outside arguing over what it was we were going to do with Merle and Tyler. I'm just glad it's not me that has to decide. I wanted Tyler gone but the last thing I wanted was to hurt Daryl in saying Merle had to go to.
I turned my attention back to Briana as she used the formula to make the bottle and handed it to me. She then smiled as Judith took the bottle and began playing with my mothers amulet around my neck. It was a heart warming feeling.
My dad and Hershal came in after a little while and looked over at both Briana and I. "They're talking about keeping them in here for a couple of days, before we consider if they're staying or not." Hershal told us.
"They should be out there." Briana snapped. "Surviving on their own." I looked over at her and she shrugged her shoulders. I agreed but we don't need us all falling out.
It wasn't too long after that Judith finished her bottle and I put it down on the table. Hershal then handed me a cloth and I placed it over my shoulder, carefully resting Judith on the cloth. She slowly started to fall asleep as I burped her.
"You're a natural." My dad smiled. "I always wanted to see you with your own little family. To hold my little grandchild. I'd spoil them rotten."
"Dad." I gave him an embarrassed look and he burst out laughing. As he did, Daryl walked into the room and looked at me. He just smiled and I returned the gesture. He was soon followed by Beth and Maggie where I then handed Judith to Beth and she took her to bed.
"Lily." Maggie called me over to her. I left the others and walked over. "Here." She handed me Briana's photo. "I was trying to find the right time to tell her. I wanted to wait until tomorrow, just in case you came back. You're her best friend. You should tell her before it's too late. It would probably mean the world to her, it coming from you."
Maggie then walked into the cell block after Beth not giving me a chance to speak. I looked at the photo and figured she was right. I then walked back over to Briana and we walked outside together, passing Glenn, Carol and Carl who were walking back inside. This left Jace, Merle, Tyler, Rick and Michonne outside.
"Where are we going?" Briana asked.
"You'll see." I smiled at her. I just continued walking over to the others, who were also heading in our direction. "Jace. Can I speak with you for a minute please?" He nodded. I think he knews what this was going to be about.
I waved my hand for Briana to come over, and she did willingly. "Lily, what's going on?" She asked again. I gave her the photo. "Where did you find this?" Her face lit up.
"It was with the records. That's not all. You know how you said your brother was dead? His name was crossed out on that list?" She looked up at me and nodded. "The records were wrong. He's alive and he's standing right in front of you." Her head shot up from the photo and she looked over at Jace. "Now before you say anything, I showed him that photo the morning we were overrun. He hadn't met you but he knew your name. I should've told you sooner and I'm sorry."
"I...I don't believe you." She shook her head, taking a slight step back. "If you really are my brother...then what was our mom and dad's names? You should know what I'm talking about."
"Mark Woods was our dad, Sadie Woods was our mom." He pointed to the people on the picture. "Our mom's maiden name was Sadie Jones. No one ever knew because of what happened to her. I may have been locked up in here for twenty odd years but I don't forget my family." Briana's face lit up as soon as he finished talking and for a moment it looked like she was about to pass out.
Briana never told anyone her mom's maiden name. Me and my dad were the only people who weren't family who knew. It was becuase her mom had a bad start in life, so when she got to change her name, it meant she could start over. I remember Briana telling me about it when we were teens. She wasn't supposed to of course but seeing how close we were, her mum didn't mind. My dad then found out a couple of days later.
"I'll leave you two to catch up." I smiled and turned away.
"Lily, wait!" Briana called after me. I stopped and turned around. "Thank you." She hugged me.
She then went back over to Jace and I went back inside. Merle and Tyler were in the common room, locked in another cell that was over in the corner. Rick then unlocked the gate to let me in. "They'll be in in a minute." I nodded, talking about Briana and Jace.
Rick nodded and locked the gate behind me as I went up to mine and Briana's cell. It was then I noticed that Daryl's things weren't on the perch where they used to be. To my surprise, he was actually standing in mine and Briana's cell.
"What are you doing?" I asked, folding my arms and leaning up against the bars.
He turned around and looked at me. "Did Rick ask you to come and bring me back?" He replied.
"No. I chose to go after you...All I did was tell Rick I was gonna bring you back. He had nothing to do with it." I sighed and walked over to him. "In fact, they were kind of against my idea. I chose to go...Let me guess. Merle making up shit?"
Daryl placed his hands on my shoulders. "Something like that. I trust you. Merle's my brother but he's not the same."
"People change. We've all changed in some ways. I know I have. It took me a little while but you just learn to deal with it." I smiled.
Before I knew it, Daryl placed his hands on my waist and pulled us closer. I then wrapped my arms around his neck. Our faces were a few inches away and then slowly our lips touched.
