"We all spread out." Rick announced keeping his eyes on the building. "Watch for a while. See what we see. And get ready. We all stay close."
I walked down the fence a little ways once Rick had finished. I hoped to see someone from the prison or at least Lily. Beth was right about at least someone being alive. I hope that the others are alive as well.
After a while I looked up at Rick. He was crouched down near the floor burying something. I walked over to see him putting the bag of weapons into a hole. I looked at him as he zipped up the bag and started to shovel dirt on the top of it.
"Just in case." He told me.
Carl and Michonne came back as Rick finished shoveling dirt ontop of the bag. We all walked over to the fences and Rick climbed over. He was then followed by Carl and Michonne with me being the last.
I kept my crossbow raised as we entered the building. There was a voice from down the corridor but it was to far away to hear what they were saying.
As we got closer the voice became clear. "Follow the tracks to where all lines meet. There are maps at the crossings to help guide you with your journey. Sanctuary for all. Community for all. Those who arrive survive."
I walked into the room and there was a woman sitting at a desk with a microphone in front of her. "Hello. Hello." Rick spoke into the room and caused the woman to stop speaking.
"Well I bet Albert is on perimeter watch." A man at the back of the room threw down a paint brush. He then came out and started to walk towards us. "You here to rob us?"
"No." Rick replied. "We wanted to see you before you saw us."
"Makes sense." The man chuckled. "Usually we do this where the tracks meet. Welcome to Terminus. I'm Gareth. Looks like you've been on the road for a good bit."
"We have." Rick nodded. "Rick. That's Carl, Daryl and Michonne."
Gareth waved his hand and then back to Rick. "You're nervous. I get it. We were all the same way. We came here for sanctuary. That what you here for?"Rick looked at us and back to Gareth. "Yes."
"Good. You found it. Hey Alex. This isn't as pretty as the front. We got nothing to hide but the welcome wagon is a whole lot nicer." Gareth turned to another man who was approaching us. "Alex will take you. Ask you a few questions. But first we need to see everyones weapons. If you could just lay them down in front of you."
We all looked at each other and Rick was the first to step forward and place down his guns. "I hope you understand." Gareth watched Rick.
"Yes I do." Rick nodded.
Carl then placed down his gun and Michonne her sword. I then placed down my crossbow and knife as Alex came over and frisked me. "I'd hate to see the other guy." He joked as he looked at me. "He deserve it?" He asked Carl.
"Yes." Carl replied.
"Just so you know we aren't those kind of people. We aren't stupid either, and you shouldn't be stupid enough to try anything stupid. So long as everything's clear we shouldn't have any problems. Just solutions." Gareth finished and Alex started picking up the weapons.
He crouched down to pick up my crossbow but I got there before him and slid my knife back into my belt. "Follow me." Alex gestured and walked through another door.
Something didn't seem right about this place. Surely if this was a community then there should be more people. "So how longs this place been here?" I asked as Alex walked outside.
"Since almost the start." That surely supported my theory of why there weren't more people. "Their camps got over run, people started finding this place. Think it was instinct, you know? Follow a path. Some folks were heading to the coast others west, north but they all wound up here."
