Chapter 29: Christmas Live Act (Red Team)

At the backstage during the break both teams are busy with preparing their script and rehearsing their lines. Since it's last minute they were all rushing and practicing with all their might.

After 30 minutes of break it was time for the acting to start as Wataru reappeared again from the smoke. "Everybody thanks for waiting, this Wataru Hibiki has come again to let you know it's time for the act!" Wataru said.

The audience shouts loudly as they were waiting for some time. "Well then for the singing part it was the White Team that went first so now we will have the Red Team to start first! Red Team come on out!" Wataru said.

Then from there the act starts with two people, Ren and Tetora fighting the bad guys with black suits and black spectacles individually. After they were done they were called by their chief.

When they returned to the Chief's office who reveals to be Hokuto, they saw each other and was disgusted and annoyed but didn't say anything as the Chief is in front of them.

The Chief then told them about the next mission and that the two were paired up together to complete the mission faster. Both Ren and Tetora were surprised and shocked and started protesting immediately.

"Chief I don't understand! I get that this mission is better with a partner but why pair me up with him of all people?!" Ren said. "Har? You think I'm happy being paired up with you?" Tetora said.

"Stop it you two, fighting isn't going to help." Hokuto said. "But Chief, at least pair me up with someone I'm close to! For example Shinsuke." Ren said.

"I also want to at least be paired up with Tsurugi!" Tetora said. "No. Both Shinsuke and Tsurugi are still doing their missions. The others are also busy with their own work. The only people free right now are you two and we don't want to delay the case any further." Hokuto said.

"But Chief!" "No buts. I don't want to hear anymore complaints. I'm already so done with the many complaints about you two not being able to get along well. Tenma, Shindou you two will solve this case together is that clear? " Hokuto said with a sigh.

Both Ren(Shindou) and Tetora(Tenma) gritted their teeth and reluctantly agreed. The Chief then gave them the case that they will be solving.

"The victim is Inumaki Shura. He's 27 years old and is a chef at the restaurant he is working at. He works the night shift and was found dead in the kitchen in the morning before the restaurant opened." Hokuto said.

Shura was shown to be Midori. Hokuto then continued. "The cause of his death is apparently murder. So far we have the suspects that are involved in this incident."

He showed the two the list of suspects. "I want you two to go and find these suspects and interrogate them. Find out what they were doing during the time of the death." He added.

"...H-Hai..." They both said unwillingly. Wanting to get it done and over with the two immediately set off to interrogate the suspects. The first place they went to is a house.

They knocked on the door and a person opened it showing it to be Mika. "Hitama Kousuke-kun I assume?" Ren asked. "Yes I am but..." Mika asked confused.

"We are detectives from Yumenosaki Agency." Tetora said as he and Ren showed their cards for proof. "We heard that a few days ago a chef by the name of Inumaki Shura was found dead in the kitchen of the restaurant he's working at." He added.

"Wha-?! S-Shura died...?" Mika said in disbelief. "So you do know him." Ren said. "Y-Yes..." Mika said. "If it's alright with you can we come in? We need to get as much information as possible if we want to catch his killer." Tetora said as Mika nods.
