"...Oi over here. Only this area is lit up." Shiro said. "This Catacombe is stupidly huge but they seem to only be using this area." He added. "Those crazy people gather here every day to do who knows that." Jun said.
"The air quality down here is terrible.....I understand it's underground but what if I develop asthma? What would they do then?" Kaname said. "...You sure do complain a lot." Jun said with a sigh.
"...Oh there they are. Take a look. The Kazehaya-san you're looking for is right over there. It's easy to spot him since he's always in the middle of the crowd." Shiro said as Kaname and Jun turned to the direction. Indeed Tatsumi was standing where Shiro was pointing.
"...Hm? We have visitors?" Tatsumi asked. "Welcome to Reimei Academy at midnight! Just kidding~" He then said with a smile. "....! Kazehaya Tatsumi!" Kaname said. "Hai. I'm Kazehaya Tatsumi. You've remembered my name clearly and I really appreciate it." Tatsumi said.
"However it is a bit odd that you always refer to me by my full name. Feel free to just call me Tatsumi or Kazehaya instead." He added. "...I mean shouldn't we, as the younger ones, be more polite in our ways of addressing our seniors?" Jun asked.
"Merely using titles or polite language means nothing. What truly matters is the respect we carry in our hearts for others." Tatsumi said. "So Tatsumi? Is that what you prefer to be called? Will you be satisfied? And if so will you give me everything you have?" Kaname asked.
"Hmm I'm not entirely sure what you're asking of me so it would be difficult for me to fulfill your wish. By the way we've quite a few unexpected visitors today. The 'Elder' came to visit me in secret earlier which was unusual given the length of time since our last encounter." Tatsumi said.
"The 'Elder'?" Kaname asked. "...That's what Kazehaya-san and the others here call the person in charge here." Shiro said. "That correct. Haha I didn't expect Jun-san and Shiro-san to come again especially since you both didn't seem to enjoy your previous visit here." Tatsumi said.
"Well that does make sense. Those who can achieve results through their own efforts don't need my help after all." He added. "...Har? Don't misunderstand. I didn't want to come back here. In fact that's one reason why I didn't bother waking up Ren to come along too." Shiro said.
"...Besides I've never achieved ant results myself. Also we're only here because HiMERU forced me to show him the way." Jun said with a sigh as Kaname didn't say anything in response. "Hmm in that case what brings you here today HiMERU-san?" Tatsumi asked.
"I've asked him that many times too but he hasn't given us any answers. He just insisted that he wanted to come to Catacombe and see you." Jun said. "I see. I didn't know you miss me this much. I'm delighted." Tatsumi said. Again Kaname didn't say anything.
"As for the children who aren't quite sure what they're after I see it as my duty to empathize with their feelings and guide them toward what they truly desire. So please don't hesitate to share your thoughts and express your feelings to me." Tatsumi said.
"What do you wish you? What are you yearning for? Fortune? Career? Fame? Love? Or peace of mind?" He then asked. "As long as I'm able to I'll give you anything. Amen." He added. "...It's really like a religion." Kaname finally spoke again.
"My apologies. I was raised in a church so talking and acting like this way has become a part of me. Whole technically it may not be correct to call it a 'church' I only use this term so it is easier to understand." Tatsumi explained.
"....?" "However I do speculate that you misunderstood this place Jun-san, Shiro-san. Think of it more like a counseling center. Well in a way religious institutions like churches serve a similar purpose so you're not entirely wrong." Tatsumi said.
"...A counseling center?" Kaname asked. "Hai. I felt it was necessary to have such a place on campus so I asked the 'Elder' for this space. It is a place to pray and to gain inner peace. A place where everyone at Reimei Academy can find a moment's peace and breathe a little easier." Tatsumi said.
"At Reimei Academy it's often the non-honored students who bear the brunt of suffering and exploitation carrying heavy burdens and worries. That's why people suspect me if having ulterior motives in gathering those non-honored students together. Even though I do not have one. All I want to do is to make everyone a little bit happier." He added.
This causes Shiro to stay silent as he thought. There's no way. Even if it's run by Kazehaya-san I won't believe in that crap. Haaaaa. Here I go not trusting others easily again. Well not I can do anything about it since it's a habit by now. This will definitely cause me my downfall eventually won't it?
