Chapter 163: Letter of Challenge

A few days have passed since then as Ren went to school as usual. Meanwhile Ito and Shiro have been each doing their own things. However the three have not been communicating much as they have yet to meet up for lessons.

Shiro was laying on his bed when he heard a knock on the door. He got up and said "...Come in.". The door opened and from there Anzu came in. "....Producer? Why are you here?" He asked curiously. "I wanted to pass you a letter send by someone." Anzu replied. "...By someone? Who?" Shiro asked.

"The letter did not say and I did not read it so I don't know but it did say on the front page to send it to you. I originally wanted to go to NewDi to give it to you but I met Tsukasa-kun on the way and he told me you won't be there and is at your dorm right now." Anzu said.

"...Ahhh. Sorry for the trouble. I just...don't feel like going today." Shiro said as he scratched his head. "Really? I don't know what happened but if it's something I can help with please let me know. But other than that here, the letter." Anzu said as she walks over to where Shiro is and hands him the letter. Shiro took it and opened it. It read:

Yo Shiro-kun, it's been a long while since we last chatted! I heard about Elysian and about the day where you and Ren-kun had to go back to Reimei Academy. You may already know this but Saegusa-kun did invite me to join but I refused. I mean that place is a bad memory for me so why would I? Oh oops I'm not here to yap about this forgive me. Let's get to the point.

Shiro-kun, we, Divine Verse SQUAD, challenge you Elysian to a match. Not a sports kind, the singing kind. I've seen how you performed recently and it makes me think Divine Verse SQUAD can beat you guys. The venue is at Tokyo Indoor Stadium. I managed to contact your Producer and asked her for help on setting up so if you're up for it come to us! From Yuugiri Reo.

"....! Yuugiri-senpai?!" Shiro said surprised that Reo would ever send a letter to him. "So you know him?" Anzu asked. "...Yeah. Long story short, he was the leader for Ren's and my previous unit back at Reimei Academy." Shiro said. "Is that so? I did feel a sense of familiarity when he called me and introduced himself but I didn't think he was your former leader." Anzu said.

"......" "Shiro-kun what do you want to do about this?" Anzu asked. "....I'll accept it. I'll let the other two know about this." Shiro said. "Are you sure? I mean because of what happened recently..." Anzu said with concern. "....I know and that's why I want to accept. Ren told me I'm mentally weak now and I want to see how it will affect my performance. It's the first time I've felt this way after all." Shiro said.

"....Shiro-kun." Anzu said. She wants to refuse but she knows that Shiro is stubborn once he makes up his mind. Although she would ask Ren to convince him to stop she also knows the three have been distant lately.

"....You sure you don't want to first ask for their opinion?" She then asked. ".....Why? ....Actually wait scratch that you're right. I should have asked first. Guess I was being a little hasty." Shiro said with a sigh before he hesitantly took a picture of the letter and sent it to the unit group chat. Immediately there's a reply from Ito. It read: A-A letter of challenge?? F-From Divine Verse SQUAD?? I-I don't mind but w-why?!

...Damn this is the first time I've seen someone stutter on text. Shiro thought. Few seconds later Ren replied to the group chat. It read: Do whatever you want. ....He's still angry huh? Having grudges even after a while. Damn why must he take after me on that aspect? Shiro thought.

"What did they say?" Anzu asked. "...They say they're fine with it." Shiro said. "Alright then I will let Yuugiri-kun know about this so we can start preparing for the match." Anzu said. "...Yeah. I'll leave it up to you." Shiro said before Anzu nodded and left the room.

....A match with Yuugiri-senpai huh? ....To be honest I'm kinda scared. Having to step out of Seishou Hall just to sing. Not to mention the video where I beat the shit out of Hugo and the others went viral. Damn it...! Why couldn't I control my urges?! ...I really hate this but I don't have the rights to complain.

Akkun dealt with this for years before he met Trickstar. So I can't get hung up about something like this in just less than a month. ....Damn it. Guess I have to endure it for now. Shiro thought with a sigh as he laid down on his bed again
