"And? What the hell do you want from me? Bean Sprout with glasses?" Koga asked. "....!" "Don't tell me you're here to lecture me about how I should stop opposing that damn annoying concept of ES Academy are you? If that's the case I'll be seriously disappointed in you, Trickstar." He then said.
"Sure we've got different goals and play different music but weren't we at least on the same about going against the authority? Hah! Maybe the moment Forehead became the student council president you figured you didn't need that spirit any more. So now you're a total goody-two-shoes honoured students now huh? How boring!" He added.
"I don't think it's boring. Living honestly is definitely better don't you think?" Makoto said with a sweatdrop. "Ah?! Don't get cocky and talk back to me. Haven't I rattled you enough yet, bean sprout with glasses? I will take it up a notch next time." Koga said. "W-w-wait stop! I'm getting used to bungee jumping but it's still a little scary you know?" Makoto said.
"Only 'a little' huh? Looks like you've grown a bit of backbone. Haha. If you're hanging upside down from a rooftop with a rope and still not changing your time then fine I'll admit it. Your resolve is the real deal. Look at you. All grown up. Back when we first met you were just a weak, pathetic crybaby who'd fall over a light breeze." Koga said.
"I'm still a coward. I'm really scared that my favourite things will break. So all I can do is rack my feeble brain, desperately trying not to lose them. Kind of like you Oogami-kun. You could say I'm just imitating you." Makoto said. "Hm? Who's imitating who?" A voice asked. The two turned to see Ren.
"Ah Ren-kun! I heard you were busy doing the opposing with Takasaki-kun but are you okay? Your brother is technically in favour of ES Academy right?" Makoto asked. "Yep. Nii-san doesn't really care and all he says is because he's no longer going to be in Yumenosaki soon and he doesn't have much to comment on since he's only been here for a few months whereas I'm still going to be here next year." Ren said with a sigh.
"Well he's not wrong. I suppose he didn't make as many good memories as us who have been here since we were first years." Makoto said with a sweatdrop. "But Oogami-kun it's not that I've grown. I've just managed to catch up to you a little." He then said.
"...You've gotten smooth with your words huh? Flattering me, buttering me up, what are you after?" Koga asked. "Like I've said before I've got a favour to ask. Since Ren-kun is here too I think I should ask you for help too." Makoto said. "....?" Ren tilted his head in confusion.
"If it's about stopping the opposition to ES Academy then don't. I'm not backing down." Koga said. "...Me too. Nii-san is not on my side this time but I'm staying true to my opinions. I genuinely don't want ES to destroy everything that is non-idol related." Ren said.
"Haha. You've kind of become the face of the resistance Oogami-kun. And Ren-kun I sort of expected you and Shiro-kun to always decide on things together and even be on the same page. It's kinda unexpected how you have different opinions." Makoto said. "...What nonsense are you talking about? We're siblings but we have our own opinion to things. Just because Nii-san accepts the concept of ES Academy doesn't mean I have to do it too." Ren said.
"....And I'm more like a convenient figurehead. Rock-'n'-roll is about rebellion so I guess I make a perfect poster boy you know?" Koga said with a sigh. "...Someone's gotta speak out about this stuff. We're not tools for those adults and livestock. We're human beings. We have our own will and violation." He then said.
"Those jerks think they can pat me on the head by feeding me candy. I must bite their hands or they'll get the wrong idea. They'll start thinking they're accepted, and even loved. And once they believe that they'll think they can do whatever they want. Last year NEGI stood up to them spitting in their faces flipping them off and acting tough, despite her small frame."
"But she's not around anymore. So at the very least as someone who rivaled her in the underground live house it's on me to keep her spirit alive. Even if it's just a piece of the music she wanted to play I'll throw it right in their faces. Otherwise she'll never find peace. Neither her nor her music." Koga said.
"....Oogami-senpai..." Ren said with a sad expression. "You're incredibly devoted to music Oogami-kun. I really respect that about you." Makoto said. "I told you. Flattering me won't get you anything though." Koga said with a 'hmph'.
"I'm the bad kid rebels against the tide, a well-known contrarian. I mean I'm openly against the concept of ES Academy. Every day I led the opposition, holding protests and guerrilla lives. I keep yelling 'NO' at those clueless adults again and again. Maybe it won't change a damn thing but at least I'll have a scratch on their hearts. Even if those self-righteous bastards never listen, I can't stand letting them think they can always have their way." He added
"If you keep acting out like this it might affect your idol career you know?" Makoto said. "It's fine. The smug, well connected senpais who act like big shots will cover for reckless guys like me even if I don't ask them to. Hah it's pathetic isn't it? I'm also relying on others, on their protection. It's just a childhood game a so-called revolution."
"I'm no different from a loud kid mouthing off from a safe distance. But still someone's gotta play that role. If everyone became obedient students the world would be so boring, like a dystopia no one wants to live in." Koga said.
"Yep. Thanks to you, Oogami-kun the world's a little more interesting." As an average citizen just looking for ways to kill time I'll say thanks on behalf of everyone." Makoto said. "...Ukki-senpai you're really praising Oogami-senpai a lot today. Why?" Ren asked. "...For real that's what I want to ask. Are you here today to kill me with compliments?" Koga asked.
"Pretty much. I'm here to cheer you on. To tell you I'm watching. I recognise you and I think you're incredible." Makoto said. "...Are you against the concept of ES Academy too?" Koga asked. "I wouldn't say I'm for or against it. Honestly I don't care that much. Much like Shiro-kun. If I think about it practically the ES Academy is pretty efficient, I guess I lean towards supporting it." Makoto said.
"Then why-" "I've been thinking about something. Your protests actually line up with my own goals." Makoto said. "...Ah Ukki-senpai you're unexpectedly more cunning than I thought?" Ren said. "Haha I won't say that. But I want you two, and possibly Takasaki-kun, to keep going, push even harder against the concept of ES Academy." Makoto said.
"Ah?! That makes no sense. You support it but you're encouraging me to fight it?" Koga asked. "Yep that's why I'm here. I thought I'd hype you up for a bit if your spirit was starting to waver. But it looks like that wasn't necessary. Ehehe Oogami-kun is always Oogami-kun." Makoto said.
"You're my first mentor at Yumenosaki and I respect the way you live your life." He added. "Hah! I don't really get it and all this praise is starting to creep me out. Even without your support I'll always do whatever I feel like with everything I've got. I don't care about the fine details I live on instinct." Koga said.
"Yeah. I've seen that for myself so I'm satisfied now." Ehehe this kind of takes me back. It reminds me of when we were second-years going to our first S1. I thought everything's changed since then but talking to you makes me realize that some things stay the same. Thanks Oogami-kun." Makoto said.
[I totally did not forget about the chapter ☠️] [For Shiro's card I will try and edit to make it better and not like he's some kind of old man when I have the time. Hopefully I have the energy to write the draft tmr so I don't need to rush 2 days later]
