"In reality those clashes of opinions occured many times and Kazehaya Tatsumi-shi gradually became more and more ostracized because of his words and deeds. Of course he would. He consistently prioritized his ideals over his well-being, over the kind concerns of those who loved him." Ibara said.
"He put his ideal above everything else including his own basic rights and other people's kindness. Compared to things like basic human rights and love, for Kazehaya Tatsumi-shi achieving that goal of treating everyone 'equally' and 'fairly' was the most important thing." He added.
"He was completely insane! It's impossible to understand someone who is so far away from common sense. Naturally we tend to fear what we can't instinctively relate to. That's why we strive to use our intellect and language as tools to better communicate and understand others." He then said.
"Unfortunately Kazehaya Tatsumi-shi adamantly rejects any attempts to understand him. Even if someone asked him 'Why would you sacrifice yourself to make everyone else happy?' he wouldn't give them the answer they wanted." Ibara continued.
"Hm? That kind of sounds like something you said this Shiro-kun would do." Hiyori said. "Indeed. I did say he must have confronted Kazehaya Tatsumi-shi about his plans only to get vague answers he did not need. In fact he could just provide reasons like wanting to be seen as a good person, wanting to love and be loved or even for money."
"Any of those explanations would elicit empathy, surely. It would satisfy and reassure everyone involved. Maybe Hanagaki Shiro-shi won't even hate him that much. But Kazehaya Tatsumi-shi's answer would be 'Because it's my faith'."
"'Because God wishes for it!' 'Because it is written in the Bible!' 'Because it's a privilege for a believer to sacrifice in the name of God!' Such explanations would likely find little empathy or understanding among people in modern-day society."
"Kazehaya Tatsumi-shi's thoughts, actions and motivations were fundamentally different from those of people with normal common sense. He was living a hard life that no one else could understand, suffering for a god-like entity that only he could see and believe in."
"And he was satisfied with it! But to any other person he was burning in the flames of hell while getting cut into pieces! Even in those situations Kazehaya Tatsumi-shi would smile with satisfaction. Perhaps he was genuinely happy to sacrifice for his faith."
"However most ordinary humans wouldn't embrace such an eccentric individual as one of their own. When there is no room for understanding or empathy people are inclined to view such people as monsters, different from the rest of humanity." Ibara said.
"...Yeah. It's difficult for people to relate to someone and treat them as fellow beings when their ideologies are fundamentally different." Nagisa said. "Yeah. So by leveraging that aspect of human phycology, Fine was able to defeat the Five Eccentrics." Hiyori said.
"As long as people think of someone as an 'incomprehensible monster' it seems that they tend to do incredibly horrible things against them. And that's been proven at Yumenosaki. But Kazehaya Tatsumi willingly became a monster didn't he?" He then said.
"Yes. He might not have been aware of it but in every sense he distanced himself from others. At the same time being a mortal with flesh and blood he couldn't endure that life. First his body started to break down physically." Ibara said.
"And inevitably his mental health suffered as well. Even unwavering faith has its limits against burdens and pain. This is probably why Kazehaya Tatsumi-shi became even more resolute in his faith. After all humans tend to become obsessed with certain ideas when their mental state is unstable." He added.
"Because of that he was stuck in a vicious cycle of repeating mistakes leading to further mental and physical deterioration. Consequently Kazehaya Tatsumi-shi had to make frequent visits to the hospital." He then said.
"Furthermore during the times when Kazehaya Tatsumi-shi was isolated in the hospital another new incident occured within Reimei Academy. It was a huge incident that pushed Kazehaya Tatsumi-shi, already fragile and weak, to his breaking point as the 'Revolutionary of Reimei Academy'." He continued.
"A huge incident...?" Hiyori asked. "Yes. It seemed to have touched upon a taboo within this industry so all the people involved were extremely secretive about it. I couldn't investigate it in detail as it's not something I can discuss here in board daylight." Ibara replied.
"However two things are clear. One is that it was the incident that undoubtedly made Hanagaki Shiro-shi hate Kazehaya Tatsumi-shi even though his little brother was not mad. This includes resulting in Yuugiri Reo-shi having to start getting depression." He added.
"Yuugiri Reo? If I'm not wrong according to what you told us he is currently in a unit called Celestial with the two brothers right?" Nagisa asked. "Hai that's right. The brothers didn't meet him until later on but soon they would create a unit together. So far they're only practicing so they have not debuted yet." Ibara then said.
"Continuing where I left off next, the culprit or rather the individual who played a key role in that incident was, Kazehaya Tatsumi-shi's archenemy, a prodigy named HiMERU." He then said.
