You are not the author of the story nor a character in it, but a reader. I know you'll have the answers I'm seeking." Ibara said.
The other person merely shook his head in response as if saying he probably won't. "Really? Is that so? That is quite amusing! Hm? Aren't I the mastermind behind everything you say? Not at all! Of course I steered things in a direction that benefits me!" Ibara said.
"But I never expected things to go so well so consider me surprised. Humans are really so easy to manipulate right? Although it's probably because the students at Reimei Academy are too used to 'following the system'." He added.
"No, rather, if they don't do that they can't survive in this academy. They follow their superiors, stick to the rules and never disobey orders. Breaking that iron law comes with unreasonably severe consequences." He then said.
"The longer they spend time at Reimei Academy the more it becomes 'common sense' to them. In the end it'll get imprinted on their instincts. Consequently they're shaped into what's most convenient for those in power, for the managers. Other regular schools might engage in similar training." He continued.
"Reimei Academy, however, takes it to an extreme. It is just like an old military. Since a soldier not following orders can cause trouble their self-esteem is crushed from the moment they enlist. After they enlist they are constantly reminded of who is in charge."
"This transforms them into obedient pawns ready to follow orders which is what an army needs. They don't think for themselves because thinking in this system is considered a crime. They'll be scolded by their superiors if they act based on their own judgment. They'll be slapped and yelled at and they won't be forgiven even if they cry."
"In such an environment it is considered the 'right' decision to prioritize the directives of their superiors over personal judgement. Humans have an innate need to conform to what's considered 'right' for survival. This makes them susceptible to manipulation when their sense of 'right' is changed."
"I exploited this. Reimei Academy was originally a strict missionary school anyway. Its isolation and strict regulations provided a perfect platform for me. With some adjustments I could transform it into a factory that could mass-produce people obedient to us."
"Although Kazehaya Tatsumi was a special case that caused some temporary disruption. Brainwashing didn't work on him. He already had another faith, one ingrained in him since childhood. It is impossible to overwrite that."
"But for troublemakers like that we just need to remove them. It's a manager's duty to eliminate anything that stops the factory from operating. Or rather the ability to turn the troubles into immediate profits is what defines a skilled businessman."
"Kazehaya Tatsumi-shi is a splendid idol but he's too good for this era. In a more prosperous era he might even have been called a super idol. His talent is undeniable, evidenced by numerous significant accomplishments."
"He has gained recognition from both the public and our clients and his reputation serves me well. However his way of life is too dangerous to ignore because he disregards the rules and transcends the entire hierarchy."
That's why religion is tricky. Soldiers who prioritize their belief in God over obedience to their superiors can become dangerous liabilities on the battlefield. Thus I've decided to create a god aligns more closely with my interests. A god who follows my orders unlike Kazehaya Tatsumi-shi."
"We have already signed a contract and 'he' is perfectly fulfilling his duties as we speak. Yes. As Kazehaya Tatsumi-shi has been in and out of the hospital due to health issues caused by overwork someone took over and finished the tasks he had all to himself before."
"Exactly. You probably know his real name as well but he currently goes by the name HiMERU. He, HiMERU-shi took over the job offers meant for Kazehaya Tatsumi and distributed them to other honoured students who were struggling to find work."
"He provided benefits to the honored students and gained their trust. In return the honored students started treating him as their representative. HiMERU-shi even reclaimed his position as an honored student a title he lost for a while before he touched some taboo."
"Indeed. Of course I was the one pulling the strings behind the scenes. Any requests for idols at Reimei Academy first come to me, the manager. And the decision on how to distribute them is also mine. Initially I delegated all the work to Kazehaya Tatsumi-shi. Because I trusted his competence to promote the value of Reimei's idols."
"Plus he wasn't motivated by money so he never complained about the percentage I took from his earnings. He used to be such a convenient 'worker' for us. However his influence grew significantly to the point that it began to unsettle the foundation of Reimei Academy."
"That's when I increased his workload and made him break down from overwork. Although only temporarily I removed him from my chessboard. This gave me the opportunity to let HiMERU-shi who was much easier to manipulate rise to the top."
"Unlike Kazehaya Tatsumi-shi, HiMERU-shi didn't advocate any strange idealism. Instead he upheld the system of the honored students. For us he's a convenient poster boy. Or rather a convenient god. A god who can control and manipulate everything. 'I' will become someone who can even command such as being. I will reach the pinnacle by taming a god like a slave." He then said with a chuckle.
[To Ibara,
Dear Saegusa Ibara,
I am writing this note to you to tell your something important. Can you like shut up for once and not talk a lot? Mind not taking the whole of the chapter just talking about what happened? This is Elysian's Monogatari. Not Saegusa Ibara's lecture history. Although it saves time since I won't have to write extra chapters for this, do not do that again. Got it? This is my fanfiction. Not your lesson. From Yours Truly,
I_fmylife]
