𝗔𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗬𝘂𝗺𝗲𝗻𝗼𝘀𝗮𝗸𝗶 𝗔𝗰𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗺𝘆 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗹 𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗺
"Why did you call me here suddenly?" Tori asked. "I'm in an extremely bad mood right now you know?" He then said. "Here Tori. Take this." Mao said as he gives Tori something. "What is this? Trash?" Tori asked.
"You've seen it before haven't you? It's the armband we used to wear when we acted on behalf of the student council. It's a symbol that distinguishes us from regular students." Mao said. "I see. Since everyone's going along with the ES Academy plan everything unnecessary like this will get thrown away." Tori said.
"And we have to toss out all these student council items in this room since the council is going to be disbanded right? So instead of throwing them out you want me to keep the armband as a souvenir? Is that it? Like the Koshien's sand?" He then said.
"No I just realized we never properly handed things over. After the student council election with all the excitement over the live and everything. We never really got a chance to sit down one-on-one and talk things through. So I figured now's a good time to do that. Let's call it the Student Council President Handover Ceremony just between the two of us." Mao said.
"What's with that? Are you making fun of me? The student council is already-!" "-That 'Student Council President' on this armband was embroidered by Anzu, even though she was super busy. I'm giving it to you as proof that you're the Student Council President. Let's make it a tradition starting this year." Mao said before Tori could finish.
"The previous Yumenosaki Student Council President was called 'The Emperor' so maybe something grander, like a crown would be more fitting. But I prefer it simple. It feels more democratic. I'm the representative of the commoners after all." He then said.
"Proof of the Student Council President? What's even the meaning of this thing now? Are you telling me to just bear with this? A piece of cloth?" Tori asked with a sigh. "That's not what I mean. From the way you're acting it seems Yuzuru hasn't explained everything to you properly." Mao said.
"I've already sanctioned that traitor." Tori said. "Is that so? Well I'm not the one to judge but you should have a serious conversation with him really. It should clear up a lot though I can't promise it'll fix everything." Mao said. "There's nothing to talk about." Tori said with a 'hmph'.
"He went behind my back, representing everyone's will and accepted the concept of ES Academy. He even tried to force it on everyone including me. It's the ultimate betrayal. He knows how much I hate it." Tori said still mad.
"Try thinking about it a bit more deeply. Take a deep breath and use your head. Why do you think Yuzuru, who loves you the best, would do something you hate so much?" Mao asked. "....." "It was to negotiate with ES and win some concessions. The concept of ES Academy is part of the big tide that can't be overturned. All idol training schools in this country are being unified under the banner of ES Academy." Mao then said.
"That's already decided. All we can do is hope to shape it into something more favourable to us." He added. "What do you mean?" Tori asked. "As a result of Yuzuru's negotiations, ES agreed to grant us the 'Current Students Privilege' in exchange for our acceptance of the concept of ES Academy." Mao said.
"Say what now?" Tori asked. "From now on until the end of next school year there will be a trial period during which ES will actively seek improvement proposals from current students. ES is open to modifying ES Academy to suit us students better." Mao explained.
"Or rather that's what Yuzuru worked so hard to negotiate and achieve. In other words ES will not be imposing everything from above. They've given students like us the right to voice our opinions and influence the policies and content." He then said.
"That very right is the 'Current Students Privilege' or as we call it the 'Holy Sword'". He added. "What's with that lame name?" Tori asked. "Eh? Isn't it cool?" Mao asked back.
