Chapter 42: Preparation (Nightfrost)

Three days has passed since the start of the shuffle unit Nightfrost. Shiro has so far finished the melody himself and the choreography with the help of Ren and Ito who were excited to help out after hearing that their leader is part of a shuffle unit.

So far the shuffle unit has made good progress without problems. Currently the members are taking a break from practice. While the rest are resting Shiro sit on one corner and took out a piece of paper with words on it. "Oya? Continuing with the lyrics, Shiro-kun?" Wataru asked.

"Ah? Well yeah. Gotta finish it as fast as possible. I don't like wasting time." Shiro said. "Hmm I had my speculation but I never really expected Your Honor to be actually strict for time." Ibara said. "Oi like I said don't call me that." Shiro said. "Well forgive me but I'm starting to like calling you that." Ibara said with a chuckle.

Seriously what the hell is wrong with this guy?! And to think he's in the same unit as Sazanami and Tomoe...Shiro thought. He then decided not to care about it as he continued writing the lyrics. A few minutes later the break was over so the members decided to continue practicing until about an hour later.

After they were done they decided to head back to the dorms to do self practice while Shiro aims to finish the lyrics by today. After he was done showering he immediately went to the table and start writing. No one could disturb him at the moment since no one else is in the dorm.

He was too focused on writing he didn't realize someone was calling him. "...pai. Shiro-senpai." Shiro stopped his writing and looked behind him to see Tsukasa and Shinobu. "Are you okay Shiro-dono? You seemed very focused on writing-degozaru." Shinobu said.

"...Ah my bad since when did you two came back?" Shiro asked. "Just now. Are you perhaps writing the lyrics for your shuffle 𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁? I've heard from Ren-kun. Onee-sama chose you to be part of one due to the job." Tsukasa said. Onee-sama? He must mean Anzu huh? Shiro thought.

"...Seems so." He then said. "By the way I'm curious but who are the other members-degozaru?" Shinobu asked. "...Saegusa, Shiina, Amagi and Hibiki-san." Shiro replied. "Amagi as in...? There's two Amagis we know. Amagi Rinne and his little brother Amagi Hiiro." Tsukasa said.

"Is that so? Then let me repeat that. Saegusa, Shiina, Hiiro and Hibiki-san." Shiro said. "Ahh so it's Hiiro-kun." Tsukasa said. "Yeah and somehow it was decided I'm the leader of the group. I'm in charge of writing the song too. Although the writing the song part was what I took myself." Shiro said.

"What about the clothes-degozaru?" Shinobu asked. "Anzu is the one preparing them." Shiro said. "Onee-sama? She seems 𝗯𝘂𝘀𝘆 enough but still tries to help I hope she's not overworking herself..." Tsukasa said. "Ah? What? Is overworking herself common for her?" Shiro asked.

"Hai...Anzu-dono is incredibly hard working and always makes sure to get the job done even if it means overworking herself-degozaru..." Shinobu said. ".....Suou. Sengoku. Don't disturb me till I'm done. I'll make sure to finish this today." Shiro said surprising the both of them.

"Of course! In the meantime we'll brew some coffee for you-degozaru!" Shinobu said as he and Tsukasa head to get some coffee for the three of them. After they both left Shiro continued writing the lyrics. He is determined to finish it today so that Anzu can focus solely on the outfits and not worry about the song.

While writing his phone vibrated. He took it out and saw a message from Ibara in the Nightfrost Hold-Hands group chat. It seems that the unit decided to create one so that if there's anything the members need to know they can be immediately notified. Ibara's message to the group was: Please meet at CosPro tomorrow to discuss the details of the shuffle unit. Also Your Honor I'm looking forward to the song! There was a salute emoji after that message.

Geh...I have to go to CosPro tomorrow? Meeting the agency that tried to frame Akkun and tried to disqualify Trickstar. Haaa it's gonna be a drag but whatever I guess it's just for the shuffle unit. Shiro thought. He then sent an okay to the group chat before continuing the lyrics.

Just then the door opened as someone said "I'm back!" Shiro turned to see Souma. "Ah Kanzaki. Welcome back." He then said as Souma nods. "Shiro-dono what are you doing?" Souma asked. "Writing the lyrics for the shuffle unit. Anzu texted me that I'm part of one." Shiro said.

"Oya? The shuffle unit project came back?" Souma asked as Shiro nods in response. "Well then I wish you the best! As roommates I will definitely come and see your live!" He then said. "T-Thanks..." Shiro said. Is it just my imagination or does Kanzaki look really happy to see our live? I wonder why...Shiro thought.

"I'll go take my shower now so please continue your work I shall not disturb you even after I'm done!" Souma said as he left. Shiro then continued writing the lyrics. He also listened to other units' songs for reference. After a few hours he is finally done with the song as he left out a sigh of relief.

"Good work Shiro-dono-degozaru!" A voice was said suddenly surprising Shiro. He turned to see his other roommates. "S-Since when did you guys...?!" "About 30 minutes ago? You told us not to disturb you so we didn't." Tsukasa said. "R-Right...Thanks for that..." Shiro said.

"Here have some coffee-degozaru!" Shinobu said as he hands Shiro a cup. Shiro the receives it as he say thanks. "By the way tomorrow do you have any plans? For the shuffle 𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁 I mean." Tsukasa asked. "Tomorrow? Well Saegusa did tell us to meet at CosPro for the discussion..." Shiro said.

"Eh? Is that so? Please be careful! Since it's the same agency that used underhanded tactics to try and win last year you never know what they'll do to you!" Tsukasa said worried. "I know that. But this time Saegusa is in the same unit as me so they shouldn't do that unless they want to feel his wrath. Even I know what he's capable of." Shiro said.

"I-If you say so...but don't hesitate to call us if you're in trouble we'll be there for you!" Tsukasa said. "R-Right..." Suou I think you're worrying about me too much. Shiro thought. The four of them then continued to chat for a while before officially turning off the lights and sleep.
