Chapter 157: The Final Straw

A while later the judges seemed to have decided on who to vote for so they nodded to Ibara who received the signal. "Thank you for waiting everyone! It seems like the judges have finally chosen their picks! Both teams have presented very well even in terms of the taste both have been complimented quite well." Ibara said.

"It's finally the last part of the competition! Who will win? The StarLink team? Or the CosDi team? Let's hear what the judges have to say!" He then added as the participants came back to the stage from their break.

"Thank you Saegusa-kun. As he said earlier in terms of taste both teams have presented well. The three of us had a hard time deciding on one winner. But to me, I couldn't help but forget about the taste of this dish." The first judge said.

"The Dongpo Pork Curry Don was truly magnificent. The CosDi team has my vote." He added. "...! Hai thank you very much!" Ren said as the rest continues to feel anxious. "I agree that the Dongpo Pork Curry Don was delicious. But as a noodle lover myself I can't help but feel biased. My vote goes to the StarLink team." The second judge said.

"Thank you very much we are thankful for your decision!" Souma said. "Which means the final winner will be decided based on who I choose huh? What a pressure. But I suppose I do have a winner in my mind." The third judge said.

"The Dongpo Pork Curry Don has a taste unlike any other and the Kozuyu Chicken Soy Sauce Ramen is easy to eat. Despite that the winner was clear. The overall winner for this year's ES Food of Wars is....the Cosmic Productions and the New Dimensions pair!" He added as the confetti popped on stage.

"...No way we won...?" Yuta asked, still trying to comprehend what is going on. "We did! We won! Yosh!" Ren said. "Fufu....T-Thank goodness...." Ito said. "Ahhhh we lost. What a shame. But it was fun right, Kanzaki?" Mao asked. "Umu. It's regrettable but it is what it is. It was a meaningful match. Congratulations on your win." Souma said as he brings out his hand.

"....Yeah. We had fun. I'm glad you're our opponents." Shiro said as he shook Souma's hand with his as the audience screamed. "That was brilliant competition! Both teams fought their hardest and did their best! However in the end the winner is CosDi team! And it ends here...is what you are thinking right?" Ibara asked confusing the rest. "...Huh?"

"I won't forgive you if you said you forgot about the half time corner votes. I believe I said the votes from there actually counts." He added. "Ah." The participants said. "...You've really forgotten didn't you? It hasn't even been a day yet you know?" Ibara asked with a sigh. "Hahaha...well I guess we forgot about it~! We are so sorry~!" Hinata said.

"Haaa...ahem! In any case there's still a chance for the StarLink team to make a comeback victory! Currently the vote is 2 to 1 with the CosDi team leading. However the additional votes from the audience will be added as well! Hence it is not over yet!" He added as the audience let out and "ohhhh!".

"Well then let's see the results!" He then said as the screen shows two gauges. One for the StarLink team and the other for the CosDi team. Right beside the gauges are the number 0. Then slowly the gauges and the number increases. Both the teams and the audience have their eyes attached to the screen, awaiting the results.

A few seconds later the gauge and the number stopped for one of the teams. Shortly right after the gauge stopped for the other team. "Oh looks like we have our winner for real this time! Congratulations to this team, team CosDi!" Ibara said as the screen shows that from the gauges the CosDi team had won by a super landslide. By landslide I meant by one vote difference.

"The results were unexpected and both teams have worked really hard! Team CosDi have claimed the crown of this year's ES Food of Wars! Please clap your hands and applaud for them!" Ibara said as the audience and the StarLink team clapped.
