Three weeks later
Lea was on her way to the training school to train with Tyler. They always trained in the mornings before the training school opened for the students. Every other day, she and Tyler would train and it helped a lot with her nightmares, she didn't have any nightmares for the past 2 weeks, and apart from the nightmares, it also helped her to keep in shape cause training with Tyler was intensive, he pushed her more and more every time, but she loved that. Some days, Finnick would join them but most of the time he trained during the afternoons because he was too lazy to get up in the mornings. Sometimes when she wanted to sleep in, she joined Finnick during his training in the afternoon but most of the time, she trained with Tyler.
"Ah there you are, almost thought you weren't going to show up," Tyler said.
"I'm only a few minutes late," Lea said as she rolled her eyes. "Come on, let's start with some warm-ups," Tyler said as Lea took off her jacket, put her bag down, and joined Tyler in the middle of the room.
"We will start with 2 minutes of high knees, followed by Jumping jacks and some lunges," Tyler said
"Knees a little higher Lea, apart from that great," Tyler said during the exercise. After 2 minutes they moved to Jumping jacks and lastly, they moved into a series of lunges, covering different directions. Lea feels the stretch in her tights and glutes, preparing her lower body for the training that is about the come.
"You're crushing it! Let's finish the warm-up strong with some bodyweight exercises. Push-ups and burpees" Tyler said as she moved down in position to do Push-ups.
"Great, One more set, Lea, and then we are done with strength training. Show me what you've got!" Tyler shouted. Lea, breathless but determined, completes the final set with unwavering focus. Tyler was always really encouraging and that made training easier.
"Now that we are all warmed up, let's move to some knife throwing, and then we will end up with some combat," Tyler said as they moved towards the dummies. Lea took a belt of knives out of her bag and put it around her waist.
"Hit the first one in the head, the second one in the stomach, and the third one right in the heart," Tyler said and so Lea did, she threw the knives and hit the target each time.
"Well that was maybe a bit too easy, Let's try it with a bit more distance. Go stand in the right corner there and try the same thing again," Tyler said as he pointed to the corner at the end of the room.
Lea walked towards, the end of the room and threw the knives. Despite the distance, she still hit the dummies right in the target each time. "Please, Tyler, give me a challenge please, this is too easy," Lea said as she rolled her eyes in boredom.
"Alright, you want a challenge, I will give you one," Tyler said as he activated a mechanical target system, and a silhouette began the glide across the room.
"You call that a Challenge, please," Lea smirked as she took out one of her knives.
"Don't get too cocky Miller, you are starting to act like Odair," Tyler shrugged. "But that's what they say right, couples who live together start to look alike," Tyler laughed.
"Haha, Very funny Tyler," Lea said
With a deep breath, Lea steadied herself, her eyes narrowing as she followed the target's unpredictable path. As it darted left and right, up and down, she seized the moment and let the knife fly. The knife spun gracefully through the air, but the moving target evaded the throw and the knife embedded itself into the wooden wall, missing the target entirely.
"Dammit," Lea cursed as she heard a voice from behind her. "Ha, nice try, maybe next time don't get too cocky," Tyler shrugged
Lea shot him a quick glare, her frustration evident. "Laugh all you want, Tyler. Let's see you try it." Tyler grinned and stepped forward, ready to demonstrate his own skills. The mechanical target resumed its unpredictable pattern, and Tyler drew a knife from his belt. He eyed the target with a mischievous glint in his eye, gauging its movements. With a quick flick of his wrist, Tyler released the knife. The blade sailed through the air with deadly precision, hitting the moving target square in the center.
