Once the doctor checked Lea's vitals, he noted some things on his clipboard without saying anything. Lea sat there patiently at first, but the silence soon drove her mad.
"Come on, Doctor," Lea said with a frustrated sigh. "You are killing me here, you didn't say anything during the checking of my vitals, you've got to tell me something here,"
The doctor glanced up from his clipboard, a teasing grin tugging at the corner of his mouth. "Just a second, Miss Miller, I am almost done,"
Lea groaned, throwing her head back dramatically. "You already know whether I can leave the hospital or not, so just spill it."
"Patience is a virtue, baby," Finnick said from his chair nearby, his tone laced with amusement.
Lea shoots him a death glare, to which Finnick raises his hands in mock surrender, clearly enjoying the situation.
"Don't you want me to leave the hospital?" Lea asked, turning to Finnick while raising her eyebrows.
"Of course, baby, I want nothing more than that, but getting worked up about this is not going to help," Finnick said, trying to defend himself.
Finally, the doctor looked up from his clipboard and smiled. Well, since you're both so eager, yes. You're officially cleared. Your vitals are solid, and healing is going well. You're free to leave."
Lea blinked. "Wait... really?"
"Really. You're good to go as soon as the paperwork is signed." The doctor confirmed.
Lea let out an excited laugh. "I can finally leave? I can go back to the others?"
"You bet. Annie's going to cry when she sees you, you know that, right?" Finnick said, a grin plastered on his face, as he leaned back in the chair.
"Oh, I'm going to cry, too. I missed all of them so much," Lea said, her voice thick with emotion.
The doctor closed his clipboard with a soft snap and gave her a warm smile. "Well, Miss Miller, I've got good news. All your vitals are noted down in your record. You're officially cleared to leave the hospital."
Lea clapped her hands in excitement. "I can officially leave," She said, raising her voice as she turned to Finnick.
"Yes, you can," Finnick said with a wide smile. He then got up from his chair and walked over to her.
The doctor walked to the door and turned back to them. "Just make sure you come back for check-ups every three days, alright? And if anything feels off—pain, fever, anything—you come see me immediately."
"Got it," Lea nodded, still beaming.
"Alright then, I'll be going," The doctor said with a smile. "Enjoy your freedom, but don't be careless," He added before leaving the room, leaving Lea and Finnick alone.
Once the door shut behind him, Finnick turned to the cabinet, opening it with a bit of dramatic flair. He pulled out a neatly folded bundle and turned back to her.
"What is that?" Lea asked, raising her eyebrows in confusion.
"This, Darling, is the final step before you can do your glorious return," He said, holding it out for her to see.
"Oh god, is that what I think it is?" Lea groaned.
A smirk immediately appears on Finnick's face. "Oh yes, it is, it's the iconic, utterly fashionable, exclusive, District 13 jumpsuit."
"Urg, I was kinda hoping, I wouldn't have to wear that," Lea groaned playfully, taking it from him.
"But we will be matching," Finnick teased, leaning closer. "Plus, you look good in grey."
