"I want you guys to forget everything, you think you know about the games," Haymitch said as he poured himself a scotch. "This year, you are dealing with all experienced killers," He said as he took a sip of his drink. 

"Alright, what does that mean for us," Peeta asked while Katniss sat there uninterestedly, scraping her fork over her empty plate. 

"That means, you are going have to have some allies," Haymitch said while walking over to them, Katniss laid her fork on the table but was still looking very uninterested. 

"Okay, I think that if we," Peeta tried saying before Haymitch interrupted him by raising his hand. "You are not the problem," He said while pointing at Katniss. "No," She said while shaking her head. 

"Look, you are starting at a disadvantage," Haymitch said while sitting down next to them. "Most of these people have been friends for years,"

"That just puts us higher on their kill list," Katniss scoffed. 

"Do it your own way, but I know these people. You go in alone, their first move will be to hunt you down, both of you," Haymitch warned

"Katniss come on," Peeta pleaded

"How can any of us, even trust each other?" Katniss asked Haymitch

"It's not about trust, it is about staying alive," Haymitch said.

A moment later, Katniss and Peeta were sitting on the couch. Haymitch was standing at the TV screen, going over all the tributes that got picked. 

"Cashmere and Gloss. Brother and Sister. District 1. They won back-to-back games, Capitol favorites. Lots of sponsors, they will be lethal." Haymitch said while pacing in front of the screen. 

"The other half of the career pack, Brutus and Enobaria," He said while clicking the remote. 

"What is with her teeth?" Katniss asked confused

"She had them filled into fangs, so she could rip people's throats out," Haymitch said

"She is committed, I give her that," Peeta joked

"Wiress and Beetee, not fighters but brilliant. Weird, real tech savvy. He won his games by electrocuting 6 people at once," Haymitch said still pacing in front of the screen. 

"The Morphlings, masters of camouflage. They basically won their Games by hiding until everyone else was dead. Self-medicating ever since, since I applaud. Not a threat," Haymitch said

Then Haymitch clicked the remote and the reaping of district four appeared. 

"Finnick Odair right?" Katniss asked to confirm, but she knew who he was already. 

"Yes," Haymitch nodded "He won his games at fourteen, youngest ever. Extremely Humble," 

"You're kidding," Katniss scoffed. 

"Yes, I'm kidding. He's a peacock," Haymitch said flipping his hair, "a total preener. But he's the Capitol darling, they love him here. Charming, smart, and very skilled in combat, especially in water." 

"What about Weaknesses?" Peeta asked

"One," Haymitch said as he clicked the remote, making Lea appear on the screen. "Lea Miller, who you both already met multiple times. She volunteered for Annie," He said as they watched Lea volunteer for Annie who had just been reaped, while reassuring the old lady next to her that it was okay. They all saw how Finnick couldn't look her in the eye. "Her and Finnick have been together for a long time, and have been best friends since they were children. They also call her the 'Gem of the Capitol', They all love her here. It's going to be hard to find someone here who doesn't like her. She is an expert in manipulating the affections of the Capitol people, so she will have no problem with securing enough sponsors to survive.
