"Haymitch," Finnick said as he walked over to Haymitch, who was leaning against a wall, close to Peeta's room.

"Ah, Finnick, how is it going, how is Lea?" Haymitch asked, pushing himself off the wall.

"She is doing much better, her vitals are stable, and the doctor finally removed the IV from her arm. Which she had been nagging about for days," Finnick explained, to which Haymitch let out a soft laugh.

"I am glad she is doing better." Haymitch smiled. "How long does she have to stay in the hospital?" He added.

"The doctor said a few more days for observation. I hope she can leave soon 'cause she really wants to see everyone again," Finnick said.

"I can imagine, must be boring, spending all her time in a hospital bed," Haymitch said.

"Hey, I am great company," Finnick argued.

"I'm sure you are," Haymitch chuckled.

"Well anyway, how is Peeta doing? Have you tried to talk to him?" Finnick asked.

"Well, I've tried talking to him, but he doesn't listen," Haymitch sighed, frustration evident in his voice. "He keeps yelling about how Katniss is a mutt, something the Capitol made to destroy us all. Every time I try to reason with him, he just accuses me of being on her side."

"So, he doesn't trust you either? Has he tried to attack you?" Finnick asked, his voice full of concern

"He didn't try to attack me," Haymitch replied with a shrug, "but he definitely doesn't trust me. Not in the slightest."

"I was talking with Lea about it. She said she and Peeta were really close back in the Capitol, and she asked if I could ask you whether she could try talking to him. Maybe he'll trust her." Finnick argued

"Well, it might be worth a shot. At this point, we're running out of options." He paused, then added, "But I'll join her. I don't want to risk anything. Besides, you'll need to get her doctor's approval first. We don't want to put her in danger." Haymitch said

"Of course," Finnick agreed quickly. "I'll make sure to check with the doctor. Thank you, Haymitch. Lea will be relieved to hear that."

"No, Thanks to Lea. That girl is always thinking about others, even though she is in the hospital herself," Haymitch said with a soft smile on his face.

"That is really just the kind of person she is," Finnick smiled back.

As Finnick was walking back to Lea's room to tell her that she could talk to Peeta. He saw her doctor standing there.

"Oh, Hey Doctor, could I talk to you about something?" Finnick said as he walked over to the doctor.

The doctor immediately had a concerned look on his face. "Finnick, is something wrong with Lea?" He asked.

"No, No, nothing is wrong. I just have a question for you," Finnick said.

"Alright, ask away," The doctor said while setting aside the chart he was working on.

"Well, one of our Friends, Peeta, is doing very bad as you might have heard," Finnick started.

"Oh yes, Mr. Mellark, I have heard. He was hijacked by the Capitol," The doctor replied

"Exactly," Finnick said, nodding. "And they think the best way to help him is by having him speak with someone familiar, someone he trusts. Haymitch has tried, but Peeta doesn't trust him anymore. We were thinking that maybe Lea could talk to him, since they were close back in the Capitol. He might trust her."
