Chapter 46

When they got backstage, Finnick didn't even look at Lea. He just angrily walked onto the train. 

"I'm sorry, okay?" Lea apologized as the tears fell down her cheeks. 

"You're sorry? Dammit Lea, how can you do this." Finnick snapped "I just can't understand why would you do this when you knew already that I was going in," He signed

"I wasn't going to do it, but seeing Annie break down. I couldn't just do nothing," Lea cried out. 

"You realize that one of us, if not both of us, are going to die," Finnick snapped again. 

"I know, but I also can't just watch the games, knowing that you can get killed every second. Now we can help each other and at least spend our last time together," Lea said, her voice thick with emotion. 

Finnick simply put his hands over his face and shook his head. 

"Look, guys. What is done is done, no use to fight about this. We just have to come up with a clear plan now," Tyler said, trying to calm both of them down. Tyler was with them as their mentor. Livia was normally also suppose to come but she stayed to take care of Annie while Tyler was away. 

"It's clear to me, I am going to do everything I can to protect her and get her out, It's as simple as that," Finnick scoffed. 

"You think, I need protection because I'm a woman? I can protect myself," Lea scoffed. 

"I don't want to protect you because you are a woman, I am going to protect you because you are my woman," Finnick yelled; 

My woman? She knew that she was his, but hearing him say it out loud, made her realize the mistake that she had made by volunteering. 

"Finn, Please. I shouldn't have done it and I'm sorry but please, I don't want to fight with you, in what might be one of our last days together," Lea cried out. 

"I don't want to fight either," Finnick said as he walked over to her and hugged her. 

"Maybe, I can talk to Snow? Maybe he will allow 2 victors like last year?" Lea said hopeful

"Lea, he might be your grandfather but there is no way he will allow that," Finnick sighed. 

"Hold on, he is what?" Tyler shockingly said and then Lea realized that she had never told Tyler that. 

"I uh, never told you that?" Lea awkwardly smiled

"Uh, no. I think I would remember that," Tyler scoffed. 

"Well, long story short. My grandmother was once reaped for the 10th Hunger Games, Snow was her mentor, then they fell in love, he tried to kill her, she fled to District 4 and then discovered that she was pregnant and bam, here we are," Lea rapidly said as Tyler just stood there with his mouth wide open. 

"What the hell? That's all I get?" Tyler scoffed. 

"I think you might want to sit down for this," Lea said as she pointed toward the couch on the train. They sat down and Lea told Tyler everything about Snow being her grandfather and everything that had happened over the past years. 

"That is a lot to take in, but I am glad I know now," Tyler said as he hugged her. 

"Maybe we could watch the reapings, seeing who of the other victors got picked?" Finnick said

"Yeah, good idea. We need to know who we are dealing with," Tyler said. 

"Please, don't let it be Johanna or Cash or Gloss," Lea pleaded before Tyler turned on the TV, with Cashmere and Gloss' faces immediately appearing on the screen, meaning that they did get picked. When Lea saw their faces, she immediately put her hand to her mouth, letting out a sob.
