The Next morning, Lea woke up and saw Finnick asleep in the chair beside her bed.

She tried to sit up straighter but noticed that she was still hooked to the IV from yesterday. She hoped that the doctor would soon take her off the IV because, even with everything going on, she only wanted to hug Finnick, spend time in his arms, and just be near him.

She knew they had to talk about everything, about her time in the Capitol, about him being on the star squad, but right all that didn't matter. She just wanted to enjoy the time they still had together before the fighting would start.

She then saw Finnick slowly stir awake. "Morning, Sleepyhead." Lea smiled at Finnick, who had just opened his eyes.

"Good morning, Baby. How are you feeling this morning?" Finnick asked as he sat up straighter in the chair, smiling at her.

"Pretty okay. I just hope I can get this thing out of me soon," Lea said while pointing at the IV in her arm.

"I hope so, too. I just want to hold my beautiful fiancée in my arms," Finnick said

"You can still give me a kiss," Lea said with a smirk on her face

"Oh yes, that I can, but I am not sure once I start kissing you, I will ever be able to stop," Finnick teased before walking over to her and kissing her on the lips.

Lea immediately kissed him back, her fingers instinctively curling into the fabric of his shirt, pulling him closer. The warmth of his lips, the familiar taste of him, made her heart race.

Finnick deepened the kiss, his hand coming up to gently cradle her face, his thumb brushing against her cheek. But as the kiss started getting more passionate, the IV tugged at her arm. A sharp reminder of her weakened state.  She winced slightly, and Finnick immediately pulled back, concern flickering in his eyes.

"Are you okay?" he asked, his voice softer now, filled with worry.

Lea let out a small laugh, breathless. "I'd be a lot better if I wasn't stuck in this stupid hospital bed."

Finnick smirked. "Yeah, well, you're lucky I have some self-control. Otherwise, I might just climb in there with you."

She rolled her eyes playfully. "Tempting, but I'd rather not have the nurses kick you out."

Finnick chuckled, brushing a strand of hair from her face. "I'd like to see them try,"

"I missed you so much, Lea," he murmured, his voice turning serious again. "I don't think you understand just how much."

Lea's expression softened. She knew exactly how much because she had missed him just the same.

"I missed you too," she whispered. "More than anything."

"From this moment on, I promise we will never have to be apart again," Finnick softly said.

She hesitated momentarily before speaking, knowing this was the only chance she had to say it. "Then don't go," she whispered, barely above a breath.

Finnick stiffened slightly, his expression shifting.

"You know, don't you?" Finnick asked her while looking down at the ground.

"Yes, my dad, he, uh told me yesterday, and then I-" Lea tried to say before Finnick cut her off.

"Then you collapsed to the floor," Finnick continued her sentence.

"Oh, so you also know about that, too?" Lea sighed.

"Of course, I know Lea. You think they wouldn't tell me? You have to be careful, baby, you are still weak," Finnick pleaded.
