July 2th- 2301

It was 2 days before the reaping of the 63rd Hunger Games. Lea and Finnick were both 12 years old and it would be the first reaping that their names would be in the bowl. They were both not from poor families, so they didn't need the extra tesserae which meant that their name would only be in the bowl once. The chances of them getting picked were thus very small but you never knew.

Lea and Finnick had convinced their parents that they could camp together in the garden of Lea's house.

"Isn't this so cool, we are all by ourselves," Young Finnick said with a grin on his face.

"My parents are literally in the house, not even 10 yards away from us," Young Lea said while rolling her eyes.

"Don't ruin it," Young Finnick scoffed.

"What I meant is, we are in the middle of the jungle, all by ourselves," Young Lea chuckled.

"Exactly, that is more like it,"  Young Finnick chuckled.

"Remember a few years ago, when I told you my worst fear?" Young Lea asked as she turned her head towards Finnick.

"Yes, I remember," Young Finnick replied.

"Well, it has changed," Young Lea said.

"What is it now?" Young Finnick asked.

"That you are sent into the Games in a few days," Young Lea sighed.

"Please don't worry about that, the chances are so small, our names are only in there once," Young Finnick reassured.

"I know but still, it can happen," Young Lea sighed.

Finnick wanted to promise her, that it wouldn't happen, but he couldn't. Even though the changes were low, they were still there.

"My fear has changed as well," Young Finnick said. "My worst fear is losing you,"

"You will not lose me, even if I am sent into those games, I am so cute, I will charm the whole Capitol," Young Lea chuckled.

"That you will," Young Finnick giggled.

"I am pretty tired, we should go to sleep," Young Lea said while yawning.

"Indeed, we should but Lea?" Young Finnick asked as Lea turned her head towards him. "Yeah?" She asked.

"I promise you that no matter what happens, I will never leave you. I will always come back to you," Young Finnick said with a smile on his face.

"Always?" Young Lea asked.

"Always," Young Finnick replied.

Lea was lying in her bed, staring at the ceiling while thinking about the time that she and Finnick camped together for the first time in her parent's garden. It was two nights before the first reaping that they were both eligible for. She remembers how they told each other about their worst fears and quite ironically both of them had become reality. She could only hope that his one promise would come true and that he would come back to her.

Suddenly a peacekeeper barged into her room.

"You are to come with me, your interview is in an hour," The peacekeeper said as he walked towards her and grabbed her arm.

"Now?" Lea asked.

"Yes, now, you still need to get dressed, I will bring you to a stylist," The peacekeeper said.
