Lea takes Finnick's hand and together they walk towards their room.

"I'm so glad we have our own room," Lea said with a smile, leaning her head briefly against his shoulder.

"There was no way I was going to share a room with others," Finnick said, squeezing her hand. "Not after I haven't—"

"Haven't what, Odair?" Lea asked, a teasing smirk tugging at her lips.

"Haven't seen you for so long, of course," Finnick said innocently, though the grin on his face betrayed him. "What else would I possibly mean?"

Lea gave him a playful eye roll. "Uh-huh. Sure. You're so subtle."

Finnick chuckled, bumping her lightly with his shoulder. "Do you even realize how long it's been?"

"I didn't exactly mark it on the calendar," Lea said. "But... a few months?"

"Exactly. A few agonizing months," Finnick groaned. "Which, if you recall, is basically cruel and unusual punishment, considering we used to attend to it several times a week."

Lea rolled her eyes at that.

"Don't tell me you don't want it, Miller," Finnick said with a wicked grin, his voice low and teasing.

"I didn't say that, it's been months for me too," Lea smirked.

Finnick leaned in, his grin widening. "Then what are we still doing standing here?"

Lea's laugh was soft but full of heat. "Lead the way, Odair."

Without another word, he tightened his grip on her hand, and together they quickened their pace down the hall. Their hearts were pounding, and months of longing were finally about to catch up with them.

Until they heard a voice.

"Lea, Finnick!" The voice called.

Finnick immediately had an annoyed look on his face. He looked at Lea, who just laughed at the situation.

As they turned around, they saw Plutarch coming towards them.

"I am so glad I found the two of you," Plutarch said, slightly out of breath.

"Something you need, Plutarch?" Finnick asked, forcing a smile. "I was just about to show Lea where our bedroom is."

"Ah, yes, about that," Plutarch said, glancing between them. "Madame President requested to speak with Lea as soon as she was out of the hospital."

"Oh, okay. Does it have to be now?" Lea asked.

"She was quite specific," Plutarch said apologetically. "I was told to come find you the moment you were released."

Lea sighed, then gave Finnick a small smile. "Alright... we'll come with you."

Plutarch cleared his throat. "Actually, she asked to see you alone. Not Finnick."

"Why can't Finnick come?" Lea frowned.

Finnick touched her arm gently. "It's alright, baby," he said softly. "Our room is right here." He gestured to the door just in front of them. "Come find me when you're done, okay?"

Lea hesitated, then nodded. As she turned to follow Plutarch, she glanced back at Finnick and mouthed, I'm sorry. He gave her a small nod, watching her disappear around the corner.

Lea followed Plutarch through the dark halls to where President Coin was sitting.
