Chapter 52

"Maybe you could use these training days to get to know Katniss a little better, we have to protect her after all in the arena," Finnick suggested as he and Lea were getting ready for training

"I just have to protect her, I don't have to be friends with her," Lea scoffed. 

"We have to be by their side constantly in the arena and for that to happen we have to convince her to want an alliance with us," Finnick argued. 

"Great, I will put on my best fake smile," Lea said while putting on a fake smile

"If you tried, you would actually get along," Finnick said. 

"We'll see," Lea said. 

"Come on, we have to go, can't be late," Finnick said

"Alright, I'm ready. Let's kick some ass," Lea laughed. 

"Most of all are on the same side, no need for the ass-kicking," Finnick laughed

"You're boring," Lea said as she raised her eyebrows. 

"That's not what you said last night," Finnick said as he winked and Lea just gave him a playful hit on his shoulder.

When they got to the training room, everybody was already there. She saw Cashmere and Gloss looking at her and Gloss just mouthed a thank you to Lea. That means that Plutarch had talked to them and that they were in. Now Lea was a bit more certain that she had made the right choice. Taking the risk was worth it if all her friends would live. 

"I am going to the knife station," Lea said to Finnick

"Alright, I'm going over to Katniss, trying to get her to like me," Finnick sighed. 

"Ha, Good luck with that," Lea laughed. She then walked over to the knife station where Gloss and Cash were already standing along with Brutus and Enobaria. From what she could see, they were clearly arguing. 

"What the hell are you talking about, you don't want to be in an alliance with us?" Enobaria screamed at Cashmere and Gloss. 

"We just decided to go another way, no hard feelings," Gloss said while shrugging his shoulders. 

"Careers always stick together. It has been like that since the beginning. Why would it be any differently now?" Brutus snapped. 

"Calm down, we are just already in an alliance," Cashmere said. 

"It's because of her, isn't it?" Enobaria screamed as she turned towards Lea who was just approaching the group. 

"You bitch," Enobaria screamed as she walked up towards Lea with a knife in her hand. "I'll kill you right here, right now," She said as she threw the knife towards Lea's shoulder. 

Lea caught the knife in her right hand and laughed. "I would like to see you try,"

Enobaria came up to her, grabbed her hair, and pushed her. Lea pushed back, grabbed her arm, and in one swift motion slammed her into the ground. Enobaria's body crashed to the cold floor and Lea hovered over her. 

"Don't underestimate me," Lea scoffed before walking over to Gloss and Cashmere. 

"You will pay for this," Enobaria said angrily as she showed her teeth. She and Brutus then walked away to another station. 

All the tributes were now gathered around the knife station because of the fight that was going on. When Enobaria and Brutus left, Finnick immediately ran up to her. 

"Are you okay? What happened?" He asked with concern clearly visible in his eyes

"I'm fine, nothing I can't handle," Lea said as she cracked her neck.
