Tyunning- Angel Devil

A gay couple in a deeply homophobic country. A classic. One is a sweetheart who couldn't hurt a fly. The other defends the sweetheart with his life. He's the protector so his sunshine never lives in the shadows.

They're both each other's worlds.

Both were kicked out onto the streets by their parents when they discovered their sexualities. Both have been beaten nearly to death by kids in their high school and both were loners against the world that seemed to be against them.

Kai's rationale was "that's how they were raised. It's wrong but I see where they're coming from. People can change. Their demons are greater than ours. We actually accept who we are."

While Taehyun understood where his boyfriend was coming from, he thought it was a load of bullshit. He didn't start working out and mastering a boxing class for no reason. He wanted to become strong so they would leave Kai alone. He could take it the harassment. His angel boyfriend couldn't. Once he got too big, too dangerous, to pick on, he no longer became a target. By association, Kai eventually was left alone too.

Two loners in the world suffered from a different form of torture. Neglect. They eventually learned to hide their sexualities at work because when it was exposed, they got fired. Both recently lost the best jobs they've had in years when their bosses found out that "roommates" wasn't an accurate description of their relationship. Was it legal to fire them over their sexuality? No. Instead, their bosses made bullshit excuses to get them out.

Currently, their jobs were server at a restaurant and telephone operator. It was enough to pay the bills but not enough to live comfortably.

One afternoon changed their entire lives. The couple always had Fridays off together by request. On this particular Friday, they decided to go see a movie. Since the theater was close, they decided to walk. Kai noticed Taehyun was cold so he kindly wrapped his jacket around him. "You feel better?"

"Yes baby." Taehyun held his hand as they turned the corner.

Out of nowhere, something electric fell from the sky and smashed the ground in front of them. The two were forced back by the shockwave. Taehyun and Kai landed on opposite sides of the street. Whatever fell from the sky was now crawling towards the couple. Neon yellow beams skirted the floor, unable to choose which person it wanted. It seemed to have a mind of it's own. When it bolted towards one, it changed it's mind and went towards the other.

Taehyun looked over and noticed Kai was still on the ground. The electrical ball appeared to choose his angel. He screamed "NO!" then jumped towards him.

The ball ended up hitting them both knocking them unconscious. Pedestrians watched the two start to glow. They twitched on the ground as if they were having a seizure. When their eyes opened, their irises were no longer black. They were the same electric white as whatever hit them. The couple stood up and looked at each other. Kai reached his hand out to find a bolt shoot from his fingertips. "WHOA!"

Taehyun jumped back. He absorbed the bolt like a punch to the gut.

Kai yelled "I'M SO SORRY! ARE YOU OKAY?!"

"I'm fine baby!" Taehyun looked at his palms. He felt sparks under his skin. As a test, he whipped his hand towards the sky. Lightning shot out in a thunderous clap. "Holy shit!"

Kai ran over and grabbed Taehyun's hands. They looked at each other with excitement gleaming in their eyes from the same shared thought. "One."

"Two."

"THREE!"

Both jumped up and found themselves flying above the city. Kai screamed "WE HAVE POWERS! WHOO HOO! COME ON BABY!"
