Taehyun breathed a sigh of relief when his interview was over. Yeonjun assured him it was just a formality and that he was pretty much guaranteed the job but he was still nervous regardless. Literally as he walked out of the backroom door, the manager yelled "YOU GOT THE JOB! I'LL SEE YOU SOON!"

He was screaming of delight on the inside but kept his cool on the outside. "Thank you!"

Hyuka walked through the door to start his shift. He made eye contact with Taehyun. It was awkward. He politely waved but they hadn't talked to each other since they first met. If he was being honest, he preferred it that way. He had a massive crush on him and it sucked since Taehyun was dating Yeonjun. There hadn't been a day that went by where he didn't think of that elecricity between them. He knew Taehyun felt it too.

When Hyuka walked by his crush, he got a whiff of that earthy smelling cologne. Taehyun smelled like the ocean on a crisp fall day. It was just another thing that made him so desirable.

To avoid a further interaction, he ran straight towards the back. His manager greeted him then told him he hired someone new. Hyuka asked who it was. Hearing his crush's name would've made him happy if it wasn't for the fact that Taehyun was taken. Instead, it filled him with dread. He really admired Yeonjun, Taehyun's boyfriend. The older was an amazing person and an amazing friend. To maintain their friendship, he had to stay away. Hesitantly, Hyuka asked "what's his availability?"

"Nights on the weekdays. Mornings on the weekends. Why?"

"Can I work mornings on the weekdays and no weekends then?"

"We really need closers on the weekdays. What's going on?"

Hyuka tried to formulate how to explain his feelings to his boss. "Um..." he ran his fingers through his hair as a nervous habit. "I just. Nothing. It's okay. I'll figure it out."

"Alright? I'm always here to talk if something comes up."

"I know. Thanks." Hyuka had no plans to discuss his crush with his boss. The thought alone made him cringe. He hung his jacket up, put his apron on, then proceeded to start his shift.

The next day, Taehyun came in for his first day on the job. He was introduced to all of the staff that night including Hyuka. His eyes lit up when he saw him but the other just turned away. That hurt to see. The manager then told him to get a drink before he settled into his orientation videos. Taehyun gladly used that opportunity to talk to Hyuka. His crush was cleaning a sink. He looked just as gorgeous as he saw him last time, even with his hands deep into a drain. "Hi. I haven't seen you in a while."

Hyuka didn't bother to look up. His tone was flat as he replied "yeah Yeonjun told me you guys have been busy."

"College, midterms, I'm sure you know."

"Yup."

Taehyun didn't appreciate the monotoned replies. "Is everything okay? Did I do something?"

Hyuka bit his tounge. His demeanor softened as he looked up. Taehyun's large eyes were so dreamy to gaze into. They seemed to hold a galaxy within. "Sorry, I was just stuck with this job. Cleaning a drain wasn't exactly what I had in mind for today."

"What did you have in mind?"

"Seeing you" was what Hyuka wanted to say. Instead, he replied "hopefully getting through a shift without a rude incident."

"Does that happen often here?"

"Nah since we're on a college campus. We do get a lot of stoners and obnoxious drunk students though. Occasionally, there's a few people who are on the stronger stuff. Oh! Like last night, this guy asked for a glass of water and then dumped all of our sugar packets and all of our cream into it! We couldn't believe he actually drank it too! It was so gross."

Taehyun smiled, not from the story but from Hyuka's excitement. His energy was infectious to be around. "Hey um. Can you make my drink again?"

Hyuka thoroughly washed his hands then dried them off with a couple paper towels. "Caramel macchiato with almond milk right?"

"You remember?"

"Yeah! I... it's a common drink..."

"Can you teach me how to make it?"

"Um. I'm not your assigned trainer."

"Please?"

Hyuka made the mistake of looking into Taehyun's eyes again. His crush practically turned into a kitten, using his adorable face against him. "Sure."

Taehyun stood closely next to him. He was so close that he could smell the faint blood orange cologne on Hyuka's neck. It was incticing. While the taller talked, he found himself staring at his lips. He longed to kiss them. He could too. It could be brief! Just enough so he could know what it would feel like.

Hyuka turned his head and accidentally kissed Taehyun's cheek. He didn't realize how close they were. Before, while he was teaching, he tried not to look at him at all. Looking at him brought emotions he didn't want to feel. Now that backfired as he panicked. "I'm sorry! I just didn't realize you were right there."

"It's okay. Can I try it now?" Taehyun softly took both of his hands and cupped them around Hyuka's. He didn't feel the coldness of his drink but rather the warmth of his crush. That electricity was stronger than ever. Blush was quickly darkening on both of their faces. His fingers intertwined between Hyuka's. He then slipped his drink from the taller's grip.

Upon sipping his beverage, the gravity of the situation dawned on him. He hadn't thought about Yeonjun once in the place they both worked at. That wouldn't have happened if he actually loved his boyfriend. The 45 seconds him and Hyuka held hands, was more emotionally profound than an entire date with his boyfriend.

Then there was the other problem. All three of them worked together now. He shouldn't have accepted the job. Things were manageable before. They weren't going to be now. He mumbled "you're an idiot" into his drink. His eyes then popped open when he realized Hyuka thought he was saying that to him. "NO! NOT YOU! ME!"

"What?"

"I'm-I was. I was calling myself an idiot."

"Oh... why exactly?"

"Because." Taehyun swallowed his pride. "I shouldn't have accepted the job."

"Why?"

"I think you know. And I think you feel the same way."

Hyuka gulped. "What about Yeonjun? He's a good person."

"He's not you."

"Taehyun..."

"I'll break up with him later. It's not anyone's fault."

Hyuka sighed. "Are you sure? You don't even know me."

"I know the world stopped when I saw you." Taehyun nervously took his hand. "You're right. I don't know you. But I know how I feel when I'm around you."

"How do you feel?"

"Breathless." Taehyun caught Hyuka briefly glancing at his lips. He longed to lean in and finish what they both wanted. The tension slowly grew as their silence continued. Just when either was brave enough to do it, Yeonjun walked through the door. Hyuka froze while Taehyun pushed him away.

"Hey guys! I'm so excited to train you baby!" Yeonjun placed a fat kiss on his boyfriend's cheek. He was oblivious to their odd behavior. "So did you start watching your videos yet?"

"Um. Not yet. Hyuka was just making me a drink first."

"Oh. An americano right?"

"No..."

"Oh. Well go start your videos babe. I'll come grab you in a few hours so we can really start your training!"

Taehyun nodded then left towards the computers. No one else was in the room and he was so thankful for that. The first boring video began playing on the monitor. He wasn't paying attention to anything the moderator was saying. The only thing that ran through his mind was how he was going to breakup with Yeonjun and how long after that should he wait to go after Kai?
