Words could not express how much Kai did not want to get married to this "Soobin" guy. He was told it was to protect the family wealth but he didn't give a shit. Everything in his life seemed to be planned out by his parents. He never had any control over his future.

The Huenings were also not pleased with who he was currently dating. This was the main reason for forcing their son to marry a stranger. What they assumed was a fling, ended up being a year long relationship. Their last straw was when they caught their son packing his stuff. They would be damned before Kai married a trainwreck.

Soobin Choi was from an equally wealthy family. Unlike Kai, he didn't rebel against every little thing his parents made him do. He was the "perfect" son. That made Kai already hate him. While he wasn't thrilled with the marriage either, he went into it with an open mind. It wasn't the end of the world.

If Kai was really honest with himself, the only reason he was with his boyfriend was because he knew it would piss his parents off. He liked him, sure, but he didn't love him. The very idea of his parent's rejection of him just made Kai want him more.

He was currently in his dressing room with his boyfriend crying behind him. Kai didn't think the wedding was a big deal. In his mind, they could still see each other. Marriage wasn't a commitment, it was a convenience. He tried to calm him down but his boyfriend kept sobbing. Then he broke up with Kai. He said it was too weird to be seeing someone with a husband.

Kai watched him leave. He was so mad he just got dumped because of this thing. As he slumped in his chair, he heard a knock on the door. That knock was unmistakably his father. "What do you want dad?"

Mr. Huening invited himself in. "Just saw your boyfriend leave."

"Yup. You got what you wanted. Is that all?"

"Just making sure you're not bailing."

"I said I'd marry him."

"Son, this is for your own good. We just-"

Kai didn't want to hear another version of the "what's best for you" speech. He stormed off towards the alter with the intention of telling everyone to put a rush on the wedding. The faster this thing was over, the better.

Soobin was busy talking to the priest. In the corner of his eye, he saw the most handsome person he had ever seen in his life, talking to the wedding planner. His jaw was dropped. He couldn't stop staring at him. The priest whispered that was his future husband. His jaw dropped further.

Kai was pulling out his wallet in an attempt to bribe the wedding planner to put a rush on things. As he opened it up, he felt someone eyeing him. That guy was unbelievably attractive. He shot him a small smile then asked the woman who he was. That attractive stranger became less handsome when he learned that's who he was marrying. Disdain replaced his smile. That guy was a ball and chain, holding him back from his freedom.

Soobin didn't understand what he did to deserve the glare the blonde was giving him. They hadn't even talked before. "What's his problem?"

"You'll have to forgive him. I was told his boyfriend just left him because of this."

"Oh."

The wedding planner let everyone know it was about to start. Kai wanted to leave but his parents caught him before he could. The music played. Everyone looked so happy amongst the white and red roses. Kai refused to smile during all of it. Holding that stranger's hand felt wrong. Exchanging rings felt worse. They especially weren't kissing if he could help it. Soobin then offered his arm so they could walk together but Kai refused that too. The Huenings were thankful they didn't hire a wedding photographer. This day wasn't worth remembering.
