Riley was sitting down inside the only garage open at the race circuit. Arthur had been in and out of the car all morning, so she's rarely seen him. But when she did, he wore the most genuine smile she had ever seen. Pure happiness was taking over him currently, it was a dream being fulfilled.
Riley heard the engine of the car as he drove out of the pit lane, completing his last few laps of the day. And then Arthur had to record a few things for social media until they could leave. But Riley didn't mind, she was used to sitting around at the tracks for hours on end by now.
"Do you guys want to go to Jimmy'z when we get back" Charles asked when he joined Riley's side.
"We don't get back the same day as you" Riley told him, "We're going to Charleston"
"Oh can I come?" He asked, but Riley shook her head. "Come on"
"It's for a family event" She told him, "If it were up to me, sure, but it's not so" She laughed, not really feeling bad because Charles understands.
"So Arthur is finally being considered family?"
"Umm," She paused, "Maybe to Josh, he's loosening up a bit" She started, it took a lot of work, he liked Arthur but it was just whether or not he fully trusted him. Especially after the incident with drugs. "My parents are still a hard no, more so my Dad but" She shrugged.
"What did Arthur even do for them to hate him so much" Charles laughed, and he already knew the answer to that.
The polaroids. Which wasn't even his fault necessarily, it was just unfortunate that the photo's got leaked in general.
"That doesn't even need to be a question"
Riley looked to the pit entrance, seeing Arthur pull up, stopping the car. Everyone rushed over to help lift the car and bring it back into the garage with him still in it. Riley watched Arthur start to get out of the car with his helmet on, and there were a multitude of filming camera's around him.
Riley was surrounded by every Leclerc brother, Lorenzo had just walked into the garage from the pits, joining her and Charles as they waited for Arthur. She made conversation with the two of them, trying to keep up with everything that was being said over the very loud chatter that was going on around them.
Riley stepped to the side, letting Charles and Lorenzo congratulate Arthur first before she did. She knew Arthur was going to get caught up in conversation with her and wanted them to have their moment before then. But her moment came soon enough and a pair of arms were being wrapped around her waist, swaying with her as she hugged him back.
"How was it?" Riley smiled, pulling away to look at him.
"It's nothing like I have experienced before" He told her, feeling the lack of her arms around him when she stepped away from him slightly.
"You did great" She told him, looking over her shoulder when someone called his name, "I'll see you after you're done"
"Okay" He smiled down at her, placing a small kiss against her lips before pulling away and sliding his hands off her waist. "I love you, thank you for being here."
"Of course. I'm proud of you." She held his jaw lightly, pecking his lips once more.
Riley sat down in the garage, scrolling on her phone for the next few hours while everyone was rushing around, looking at different forms of data they had got. She was on the phone with Daniel for a little bit trying to pass time, he was going over some music sheets she composed for a dinner she was playing at as requested by Toto Wolff in a couple weeks. Which she had found both nerve racking and exciting.
