Riley had been searching everywhere for her phone. She wanted to call Jade before leaving for Jimmy'z but it was no where to be found. That's just because Max had it. He was trying to keep Riley from seeing all of the videos of her last night. He knew it would've added more stress onto her shoulders.
She walked into the club with Nathan, Holden and Levi who most definitely all looked like personal body guards when they stood in-front of her. Well, everyone except for Nathan, he didn't look threatening at all. Matter of fact he wouldn't stop talking. He was chatting Riley's ear off about the things they had done in Monaco while she was tucked away in her room with Max. Which Riley didn't mind, he just wasn't as cold as his brothers seemed.
"But I didn't understand a word of french so I just stared at him cluelessly" He told Riley loudly over the music when they all walked to the bar.
"I thought you said you took french in high school?" Riley questioned the statement he made only moments before.
"Yeah but so did you," Nathan reminded her, "You're still shit at it"
"But at least I try!" Riley laughed, glancing around them for Max. She knew he was here but not exactly where. Riley would've known if she had her phone. "Do you see Max anywhere"
"Walk around and find him yourself" Holden spoke up when they reached the bar.
"I was just asking if he was in view"
"He's not"
'Why is he such a bitch' Riley thought to herself. She couldn't stand the attitude she got from Holden constantly. Riley was willing to be welcoming to him and his brothers, he was making it difficult.
"Riley!" Lando called from behind her, he was pushing through the crowd with a drink in hand and a pair of sunglasses on his head. "How does it feel to be free"
"Amazing" Riley said, feeling his usual arm go around her shoulder. It was amazing other than the image the public had of her now. Desperation. "Can you actually not" She asked him kindly, "Max wouldn't like it"
"Shit yeah, sorry" He apologized taking his arm off her, "Arthur normally didn't care"
"Well Arthur was sleeping with other people so," She forced a smile on her face, "Figures"
"Max is here until the end though" Lando said, watching Riley's faux smile get replaced with a genuine one.
"Oh is Max endgame?" Nathan asked her, he was trying to become more included in Riley's life. She was letting him, out of him and his brother's Nathan was her favorite. She already started considering him family.
"Hopefully" Riley said quietly with a nod, "I really want him to be"
"I like him" Levi spoke after he swallowed a sip of beer. "He seems chill"
"He's very down to earth" Riley agreed, that was one of the things she loved most about Max. He wasn't full of himself. He had an ego but he wasn't entitled to anything. Maybe when he first started racing in Formula One her answer would've been different. But she knew what it was right now.
"She's in love" Lando told everyone, getting a small nudge to his side.
"Stop" She smiled largely.
"Have you not told him yet?" Nathan asked intrigued by the whole situation. There was Arthur, Max, Liam, Logan. He'd be lying if he said he hadn't googled Riley once after he met her.
"Not yet, there hasn't been a good time with everything lately"
"Will you tell him?"
"Obviously one day..." Riley said, "I'm just riding the wave right now"
