Riley had stayed at the hospital with Joshua for hours until she left with her mom and sisters. Everyone was staying at the Charleston house for a few days until Riley had to leave for Japan. They weren't going to stick around when she was gone, it didn't make sense especially when they didn't have a key.

Riley pulled down the long driveway, listening to the gravel get crushed under the tires as everyone was talking about how adorable Griffin was. Riley's talking subsided when she saw a unfamiliar car in her spot. Riley parked next to it, looking inside trying to see it there was anyone there.

"Is Dad here?" Riley asked while she turned off her car, well, Sloan's car and looked towards her Mom. She noticed a wave of both sadness and anger take over Samantha when she heard her question.

"He shouldn't be" Samantha told her, getting out of the car with everyone.

Riley was beyond confused when she walked towards the door, she was very wary not knowing if someone was inside. She unlocked the door, and slowly opened it. Everyone waited outside besides her mom.

"Hello?" Samantha asked loudly.

"Shut the fuck up" Riley whispered, "If this was a horror movie I'm dying first!" She told her.

"I wouldn't let that happen!"

Riley poked her head around the corner before walking up the stairs quietly. She walked down the long hall that was dark with the lack of light, only adding to the sense of fear creeping up in her body. She looked inside rooms one by one with her mom. Riley went to the room right next to her own, and opened the door. She was relieved seeing Arthur asleep in bed, but also shocked to see him there.

"Oh thank god" Samantha said, turning and walking back downstairs to let Sloan and Ava inside.

Riley walked into the room, closing the door behind her. She walked quietly through the room, and sat down next to him on the bed.

"Arthur" She whisper, touching his back gently. "Arthur" She repeated, feeling him shift under her touch.

"Let me sleep"

"No what fuck are you doing here" She laughed, seeing him turn over. "I didn't know you were coming!" Riley exclaimed with a smile as he sat up.

"I wanted to be with you" He told her, flickering his eyes to her lips when she smiled at him. "I can't wait until after the race"

"It was only just over a week," Riley said, placing a small kiss on his lips.

"A week too long" He mumbled, pressing deeper into her kiss. He pulled away, peppering kisses into her cheek before she stood up.

"You scared the shit out of us all" Riley told him, holding onto one of his hands. "A text may have been nice"

"It was supposed to be a surprise" He looked up at her, knowing he may find it hard to stay loyal, but he was going to try his best.

A red flag Riley was too blind to see.

"Well it definitely was!" She exclaimed, leaning down for one more kiss. Riley squealed when she got pulled down onto the bed with him. She laid in his arms, not feeling home but that didn't cross her mind, what he offered her was enough right now.

And even if it wasn't, she didn't know how she was going to open up to someone the way she did to Arthur. Riley didn't want to go through that process again. To find someone new to trust.

It was hard enough after Noah.

Two days had passed by and Riley hadn't gone to see Griffin yet. She was waiting both for Misty's parents to leave town and for her and Joshua to get settled in. They were coming over that night for a late easter dinner. With Griffin being born on easter, no one had the chance to celebrate.
