Riley rode with Arthur back to her condo that night, they got a cab and didn't speak a word to each other. Well, Riley didn't say a word to him and he stopped trying to reach out to her. He didn't walk her inside, Riley made it in herself, stumbling throughout the lobby while drunk. She went to bed and practically passed out for the night, sleeping straight through with no problems at all.
It wasn't until the morning that there was a disturbance. Well, she wouldn't consider it a disturbance, but she woke up. Max slept over with Lando last night, they were all too drunk to drive. He would've stayed with Riley, but Daniel stayed awake for hours.
"Rye" He said, sliding a hand on her back. Max closed the door behind him on the chance Daniel or Lando woke up. "Riley"
"Hmm" She groaned, still in her dress from the night before. Riley kept her eyes closed, moving her hand to his, trying to pull him closer. "Max" She said in a hushed whisper.
"What'd you want for breakfast" Max said, giving in to Riley's request and moving next to her. Riley moved on top of him, wrapping her arms around his neck.
Riley didn't answer his question, she just started falling back asleep. She buried her head in the crook of his neck, kissing it softly just once tiredly. Max's hand rested on her hip, drifting off himself. Riley shot up when she realized he was here, that it was morning. It shocked him back awake.
"What are you doing here!" Riley whispered excitedly with a smile, kissing his lips, sliding her hands to his jaw. "I missed this" She mumbled, hearing him groan against her lips when she laid her weight back onto his chest. His hand squeezed her hip, pushing into the kiss.
"What" He smiled, feeling her lift off of him, sitting up completely.
"You" She said, watching as Max sat up in front of her. "In the mornings"
Max still didn't remember that phone call. He knew a call happened, just not what was said.
"That's where you said 'I did too'" Riley told him, getting up from bed. She knew there was something she was supposed to be ready for, but she forgot about Jade's coffee but remembered they made plans. Max and breakfast completely slipped her mind. She wasn't really sure if she even wanted breakfast right now. She drank too much last night. That's just another reason she was beginning to hate drinking. She doesn't cut herself off and forgets things.
"I think you know I did" Max told her, getting up to leave her room.
"I don't know..." Riley said, "You left me alone in Miami"
"I didn't want to wake you up"
"Wake me up next time" Riley told him, "I didn't like waking up alone without a note"
"It won't happen again" He promised, opening the door to walk out, "You never told me what you wanted for breakfast"
"Ummm" Riley thought for a moment, she really didn't want to eat anything. "Can we get lunch instead?"
"I was going to use hangovers as an excuse"
"Then surprise me I don't know" She shrugged, "Just get something for you and Daniel, I'll take some from yours"
"You don't want anything?" Max asked confused, closing the bedroom door he was opening.
"No I'm fine honestly" She lied, but he could tell.
"Alright" He sighed, he was getting her something anyways. If she didn't eat it someone would. "I'll be back around 11 if Lando or Daniel asks"
"Lando's here?" Riley asked, going through her closet for something to wear.
