Now, it was truly Halloween night. Riley landed just in time to meet Josh and Misty at their house. They were taking Griffin trick or treating in their neighborhood. Misty thought it was hilarious dressing Griffin up as the lorax. He was completely clueless to what was going on, just watching as everyone rushed around the house making sure they had everything before leaving.

Riley stood back at the end of peoples driveways and watched Misty and Joshua take Griffin up from house to house. Free candy was free candy, even if Griffin couldn't eat it, his parents could. Riley bought herself a bag of candy she had split with Gustav that didn't even sound appealing to her anymore.

Steak. That sounded appealing. A cheese burger. That was appealing.

"Well, he drives well in the rain" Riley told Josh, keeping her hands in Max's hoodie pockets so she could hold her belly. "So I'm not too worried about the penalty"

"He launched himself at Norris in Mexico" Josh said, "I won't be surprised if that happens again."

"I already talked to him about that" Riley said, "I know I can't interfere with how he chooses to race, but, I don't know I sort of freaked on him" She sighed, "I hate watching him drive recklessly though"

"It made the race more entertaining though I bet" Misty said, dragging Griffin behind her in an old red wagon. "I saw clips"

"Yeah it's entertaining for people who don't know him" Riley said, "For me, terrifying." She emphasized, "All it takes is one wrong move"

"He's been racing for 10 years" Joshua said, "I think he's got it under control"

"I wasn't talking about a wrong move from him" She clarified, "No, I meant Lando."

"Valid" Misty said, "I don't get the hype, cute, but, the whine is a turnoff"

"I never saw the appeal in the first place" Riley mumbled, "He can be a good friend though, one of the best"

"Oh please" Josh said, "He's your fiancé's biggest rival right now"

"Believe me, I know" Riley laughed, recalling the small 'fight' Max and Lando had in the paddocks back in June.

"Okay, last house" Misty said, "Our Lorax is about to fall asleep"

"He's probably wondering why you're carrying him up to every house then leaving" Riley chuckled, "Oh- imagine if we got together in 5 years with my kids too and they all went trick or treating"

"How many kids are you planning on popping out the next 5 years?" Josh looked at her with wide eyes.

"Maybe 5 years wasn't the best time frame" Riley shrugged, looking at the headlights of a car that was passing by. "But, we'll have one at least"

"Please don't get knocked up before the wedding"

"Uh-" Riley looked past him and motioned to Griffin. "Your fiancé got knocked up before you were engaged"

"That's different" Josh said, "You're my little cousin" He pulled her into a tight hug, ruffling her hair with his knuckles. "You're supposed to be a nun"

"Well I'm definitely not" She said, pushing herself away from Joshua. "Geez"

"If Aunt Josie knew she would've took you out of the will" Joshua said, starting to walk up the driveway, "Then the house would actually be mine"

"It's too bad I was her favorite!"

Riley got to the tracks with Gustav a few minutes after the race had started. She didn't have a pass on her and used for the second time in her life 'her name' to get into the paddocks. Gustav stayed in-front of her, walking through the paddocks they both have never been to before. Last year Riley was in Charleston for Josie's funeral. She didn't get to watch this race.
