"He was found in his car Max" Riley was crying in the middle of the night, sitting on a white chair swing on her porch with her legs draped along Max's. "Why the fuck does everything have to happen in a car"

"Riles" Max said softly, holding her inner thigh, stroking his thumb tiredly. "Let's go to bed"

"I just wish I could've done something more" She admitted, "I mean he has a family- I feel for them. His girlfriend if they were still together- I don't wish that kind of loss on anyone"

"I'm not saying you have to wish that" He shook his head and moved closer to her. "I'm just trying to remind you what he did. If I'm being entirely honest, Rye, I'm relieved that this was it"

"You are?"

"There is a lot of weight lifted knowing he can't threaten our kids"

"I know but-"

"Riley."

"I know." She sighed, resting her forehead against his shoulder, "I'm just really really terrified of the media right now"

"Nothing is going to happen" He promised that to her.

Riley had felt better by the morning. It took time and long conversations with Max, but she slowly allowed Noah to inch out of her mind. Not completely, he was still there, he'd being there in the back of her mind for the foreseeable future. But she didn't want to hold onto this and let it torment her even more. That's all Noah had ever done when he was alive, she wanted to be free of that. Now she had the chance to be.

Riley held onto Max's hand as they were driving around town to the Ultrasound technician. Their appointment was at 10, and Riley got bloodwork done right after in the same building.

"This is starting to feel a lot more real than it has been" Riley said as they pulled into the parking lot. She looked over at Max who's been containing his smile to an extent. "What do you think"

"I'm trying to think of names right now" He laughed, pulling into a spot. They told Gustav they were fine on their own for this. Riley and Max didn't want to bring attention to themselves with a blacked out car following them into an Ultrasound Technician offices parking lot.

"What names" She stayed in the car a moment longer after it was parked.

"A few boy names" Max said, "Other than the ones you hate"

"Like what" She asked as Max opened his door slightly.

"Hugo, Kai, Ruben" He continued listing off a few that Riley didn't love.

"Ruben isn't bad" Riley said with a scrunched nose, "I don't know about the rest though"

"I just listed off ten names!" Max was amused, "You are so hard to please, I swear"

"We're naming a child!" She said as she got out of the car with Max. "I want to love the name not just like it. Ruben isn't terrible, we can put it on our list"

"Yeah?" He looked at her, locking the car once they both closed their doors. Riley waited for Max on her side, holding her hands in-front of her excitedly. "Ruben James?"

"Mmm maybe not paired with James" She said, holding his jaw gently when he leaned down for a kiss. The kiss was brief, leaving Riley with a small smile. "What was that for"

"Just because" He shrugged walking across the parking lot beside her.

"It was sweet" She mumbled, stopping her steps after remembering she had forgotten her camera in the car. "I'll just get it after"
