Riley got her period in the middle of FP1. Which was both relieving and annoying. Relieving that she wasn't pregnant like half of her started to worry about, annoying because she had to run around the paddocks to find a tampon. Luckily Jade was there and had a spare one. Riley convinced Jade to sit with her in the Red Bull garage for the weekend, but she looked like she was searching for someone their entire walk back to finish watch the practice session.

"He was blond" Jade was explaining the appearance of someone she hooked up with the night before. "And he had the most gorgeous blue eyes"

"You don't remember his name?" Riley asked again. Jade told her earlier that the mystery man was gone before she woke up. He bought her a drink at the club and they went to her apartment for the night. He didn't leave a note or a number, that was it.

"No" Jade groaned sadly, "But he was the love of my life. He said he was supposed to be here today"

"Maybe he meant the grandstands Jade" Riley told her, trying to ignore Max who was taking his helmet off next to his car. Jade looked over, feeling sadness in Riley's words. Riley wanted to talk to Max, she could sense it.

"He did pretty good today"

"He hates street circuits" Riley said quietly, glancing over at him. Disappointment was all that Riley could read on Max's face when he looked at her. The disappointment wasn't because of her, it was his performance for the day. He thought he could do better. He knew he could've done better.

"Should I leave you two alone?" Jade asked her, Riley explained everything that happened between her and Max that day once she was found.

"No!" Riley said quickly, but Max was walking towards her and Jade didn't want to be there when it was awkward.

"I'll see you later" Jade told her, "I need to find my future husband while you talk to yours"

"You're too funny" Riley said dryly, standing up when Jade walked away and Max arrived.

Max motioned for Riley to follow him to his drivers room when he headed towards her. They needed to have a conversation in private, not with a million cameras around. Riley would've suggested they just wait until they leave the circuit, but she didn't want to end up in his bedroom or him in hers.

Sex was a solution for Riley and Arthur. It never lasted long, and towards the end it wasn't enjoyable. It included Arthur mumbling 'I'm sorry' between every kiss he placed on her, convincing her she was the only one he was sleeping with. Riley didn't want that to be what happened with her and Max.

Riley closed the door behind the two of them, watching Max slip off his suit and pulled his fireproof up from where it was tucked. Riley let out a small breath and sat down on the miniature bed in the room, criss crossing her legs as she waited for Max to start talking.

"Are you growing your mustache out?" Riley broke the silence and touched the small space she had between her nose and top lip.

"Not too long" Max shrugged, about to sit next to Riley on the bed but it didn't seem like she wanted him to. "I can shave it if you want"

"No I don't mind it" She shook her head, moving over more for him.

"Just let me know" He sat down with a foot of space between them, giving Riley the breathing air she needed. Riley brought one knee to her chest, trying to find comfort in the silence they were creating. She didn't now what to say to him.

The when to if hurt her. Him taking her phone was annoying. She knew that she started the argument. Riley wanted to spend the night with Max when he asked, she just didn't know if he asked because she wanted to get ready with him.
