"It's your turn" Riley groaned when the baby monitor went off again. She was pushing Max's arm off of her.
"I just changed his diaper" Max grunted, sitting up half asleep.
"I just fed him" Riley sighed, letting herself sink back to sleep. Max didn't move for another moment or so, he heard Griffins cry's, but the pillow he just had his head on was tempting. "Max!" Riley yelled at him when his hand slid onto her clothed back. She knew he was about to lay back down. "Go!"
"I've got it" He mumbled, getting up from the pushed together beds.
Riley heard his heavy steps walking down the hall. It was 4 in the morning and Griffin had been up on and off all night. Riley thought it was unusual for his age, but then again her and Max didn't know how to keep a baby asleep. Riley didn't pay attention to Ava in a motherly aspect until after she was a year old. Riley was well with toddlers and kids. Babies were new.
She heard Max's voice over the baby monitor. Riley smiled with her eyes closed, listening to how he was talking to Griffin. Soft, sweet, quietly and gentle. Max forgot Riley could hear everything he was saying.
"We're going to do a hot lap" Max told Griffin, which gained a small laugh from Riley. "One day I'll have to take you on a real one, but this'll do for now" He was lifting Griffin and putting him in his car seat that Riley insisted they brought in. "Your Aunt Riley was right"
Max took a moment to make sure he was hooked in properly, mumbling quietly again unknowingly having Riley's attention.
"She usually is"

Riley was in the kitchen making Griffin's formula in the morning while Max was holding him. Max was holding Griffin's binky while he sucked on it, ensuring he wouldn't drop it on the floor. Riley glanced up, thinking Max was talking to her for a moment but she was mistaken. She smiled to herself, shaking the baby bottle well.
Max and Riley both looked out the front windows when they heard a car door closed. Riley knew it wasn't Josh, he told her an hour ago they'd be later than planned. Which was ideal, her and Max slept until Griffin woke up.
"Oh noo" Riley gasped, keeping her face straight when she saw Samantha, Sloan and Ava exit their car.
"Did you not invite them?" Max looked at Riley confusedly.
"No" Riley sighed, passing Max Griffins bottle. "I mentioned that we were coming to my mom, I guess she just invited herself"
Riley and Max were both irritated, but neither of them said anything. Riley was going to say something to Samantha. Max didn't want to be rude and upset Riley, but he wished they had a heads up before they just showed up.
"Surprise!!" Ava said when Samantha unlocked the front door with a spare key.
"Hey munch" Riley kneeled down with her arms open wide. Ava ran towards her, giving Riley a big squeeze. "Are you being good in camp?"
"Can Max sign my hat?" She whispered in Riley's ear. Riley almost hated that she asked that. It meant Ava was finally catching on to everything around Max. How he wasn't just some random guy she'd pass on the streets.
"Maybe later" Riley said, kissing the top of her forehead before letting her go.
"Did the storks bring you a baby" Ava asked Max with furrowed brows. Max laughed loudly with Riley, which caused a pout to fit across Ava's face.
"No Ava" Max tried containing his laughter, seeing it alarmed Griffin too.
"Can I hold him?"
