Riley was walking with Ava and Sloan throughout the paddocks which was in the middle of the Miami Dolphins football stadium. Sloan was in the garage last year to watch the race, but this is Ava's first time watching the race in Miami. She had her eye out for Taylor swift and Travis Kelce as it was rumored they might make an appearance. Riley kept telling Ava not to get her hopes up, but that didn't work.
Sloan's eyes were wide open though, she remembered seeing a ton of celebrities last season and was curious who would show up this year. Riley was beyond stressed out while walking around the paddocks. This was definitely making Riley's list as least favorite paddock set ups. They were looking for Logan before going to the garages, it just would have been easier that way.
"Holy shit Rye," Sloan whispered, grabbing her arm to keep her from walking, "Kendall Jenner's here" Riley nearly broke her neck with how fast to looked in the direction Sloan was motioning to.
"Remember this is about the race not the people" Riley told Sloan, seeing her roll her eyes.
"Don't act like you're not waiting for Dylan O'brien or someone to show up"
"I'm a fan girl at heart Sloan" Riley whispered, "There's Lo" Riley pointed out, walking over to him. He was with his team, it was the perfect timing, they were all about to go to the garages for practice to start.
They all walked past filming camera's, which were for the pre-show that was currently airing live. Ava waved at the cameras with a hand that wasn't holding Riley's when they were walking past. If anyone knew about Ava, they would've considered her one of the luckiest kids, growing up knowing F1 drivers. Ava wouldn't see it that way though, they were just normal people. If anything she found it upsetting because she never got to see Riley anymore. She'd never considered herself lucky, when someone she saw as a mother wasn't around consistently.
Once they reached the garage's, Riley parted ways with Sloan and Ava leaving them with Logan's parents. Which was fine, Riley had passes for Daniel's garage not Logans. Riley told Sloan to keep an eye on Ava, the last thing Riley wanted was for Ava to run off.
Riley was walking down a small hall, seeing Max come into view in the process. Riley thought they were just going to walk past each other, not draw any attention to each other with the cameras around them. But he put a hand out for her before she walked past him, one that she walked into as it went to her side.
"I'm breaking up with Kelsey" Max told Riley quietly, feeling her hand mimic his and find his side.
"I forgot about her" Riley laughed. She put more space between the two of them, knowing the risks.
"Is that okay?" Max said, "I'm not wrong to assume it's a good idea"
"No yeah" Riley nodded, "I mean I'm not going to date you if you're with her so" She said quietly, not wanting anyone in passing to hear them talking.
"I know that" Max said, "I just wanted you to know"
"Okay" Riley said, letting Max's side go, "I'll see you tonight Max" She told him, feeling his hand drop from her when she started walking off, she smiled when she heard him call after her.
"Who's garage are you staying in?"
"Dan's" Riley said loudly back as she continued walking away. It wasn't until Max was in his own garage that Riley was told she was mistaken.
Charles walked outside of his garage, almost like he was waiting for her to turn up. Lorenzo told him to get Riley to sit in his garage. If Riley was seen in Charles's garage he thought people would start backing off of Arthur. So far their whole PR stunt wasn't working, not that they've done much yet. Everyone was going at Arthur's throat, deciding to believe the rumors.
