Riley stopped texting Arthur first. If he said that it was bothering him, she was going to lay off. Although she didn't see the problem. It was never excessive, it was a text here and there and she always waited for him to respond before she sent him another. She stopped waking up to texts from Arthur, and she hadn't seen him since he dropped her of at her Condo.
Riley was beyond upset about this. It felt like they were doing no contact whilst dating. All she wanted to do was talk to him. Arthur wouldn't leave her mind, he was all Riley was thinking about. Things like what he was doing that day; if he was even having a good day. She wouldn't know unless he called or texted her first. Which hadn't happened.
She was in her hotel room with Daniel on the verge of tears because Arthur hadn't reached out at all that day. It had only been 2 days since he was late to dinner, and she knew they were falling apart. Riley felt her heart breaking slowly, she didn't realize she was holding onto him too tightly.
"He hasn't texted or called at all" Riley said, feeling her cheeks heat up as she was laying on her bed. Daniel was about to drag Riley out of it to attend the grids dinner. She needed something to eat, he hadn't seen her consume anything the past 2 days, and he wasn't sure if that was just him not paying close enough attention or if he was right. But he was worried.
"Riley you can reach out first" He told her, "You don't have to wait for him, it's a relationship, it goes two ways" He said, seeing the smallest tears forming in Riley's eyes when she picked up her phone. "Maybe he's thinking the same thing about you Rye"
He wasn't. Arthur had gotten in touch with Julia when Riley was on her flight. He had plans to see her, it wasn't supposed to be anything special, just a friend seeing a friend. But thats how everything starts off.
"He's probably having lunch right now" She said checking the time.
"Then wait until later"
"Aren't we going to the club?"
"You can shoot him a small text then" He said, "Just a small check in, and then let him do the rest"
"Everything's going to shit" Riley said, putting her head in her hands when someone knocked on the door.
"I'll get it" Daniel told her, heading for the door.
He walked throughout the room, stepping over the bags that they had scattered around for the weekend. He heard the knock placed on the door once more before he opened it. Daniel already knew who was on the other side, he was going to have to turn them away. Daniel opened the door and stepped outside, seeing Max take a couple steps back.
"Can I not come in?" Max asked, seeing Daniel close the door behind him instead of letting him in like usual.
"Not right now" Daniel said, "She's upset about something"
"And I can't see her?" He said with furrowed brows, "I know her a bit better than you do, I could help"
"Max you'll see her at dinner" He said, "Just give her some space"
"I've been giving her nothing but space"
"Because you guys aren't dating" Daniel emphasized, something that Max already knew. Daniel wasn't trying to be rude, but Max was getting awfully close to Riley when the two of them were still with other people. And Daniel had still been keeping the kiss they shared in Japan a secret; along side Lando of course. But Daniel wouldn't have been surprised if he had forgotten about it. "If you want anything with her at all, you need to break up with Kelsey"
"Why are you switching up on me"
"Because what you're doing to Kelsey is fucked up" Daniel told him, "Whether you like her or not, everyone sees that, Riley's told you that"
