"Your mom texted"
Max told Riley while she was sitting on the ground packing her clothes away for their flight. Riley got a late start on packing after she slept in all day and sat by the water. They had to leave in an hour, and Riley was rushing to get everything in her suitcases.
"What'd she say?" Riley asked, folding a pair of pants while Max was messing with her hair.
"She said-" Max paused when he reached across the bed for her phone. "Wow sweetie!" Max said enthusiastically, "It's beautiful! Can't wait for the wedding! Text me the deets when you guys figure it out"
"My mom's on-top of it" She laughed, moving a few things around in her bags. "We're not having the wedding before the baby"
"Your dad just responded too" Max looked at the next notification, "He said, 'Wow Riley it was just yesterday we were taking you to Josie's for piano lessons, now you're all grown up. I can't wait to see what this next chapter of life holds for you'"
"Aw that's sweet" Riley said, furrowing her brows when she looked around the floor. "I'll respond to it later- where did we put the baby binky's, and the onesie"
"Uhhh" Max looked around, "Did you pack the blanket?"
"Yes I've packed everything but the pacifier, and onesie" She told him sadly, Riley stood up and started walking around the room, checking drawers, under the bed, about to go into the bathroom and look.
"Wait Rye" Max said, unzipping his bag, "I already have it here"
"I really thought we lost it" She said, walking back to her bag.
"No, I was just gathering everything earlier"
"Mkay" Riley said, tossing a few more things from the floor into her bag, "Are you positive you don't want to stay longer"
"I can't" He told her once again, "I would but I can't"
"Ugh" She sighed, she didn't want to leave the safe haven they were living in. "Everything's about to get so hectic"
"Like?"
"Home shopping, baby planning, the cafe, wedding planning, the races, et cetera" She told him, sitting down on the edge of the bed, "I'm not complaining though, just, expressing my thoughts"
"We can start looking at apartments on the plane" Max mumbled, "Maybe walk through a few and decide when we're back. Everything else can be spaced out between the races"
"I know, it's just going to be a lot" She sighed, "I'm not ready for reality to hit us again" She looked over her shoulder to him. "I'm so scared"
"No ones going to find out" Max promise her that, "By the time you're really showing the season will be over"
"But then what?" Riley asked, "Do I stay locked up at home?"
"We'll figure it out when we get there"

Riley and Max in fact found a few apartments they liked over their 22 hour flight back to Monaco. They landed on the 8th at noon, and picked up the cats directly after, bringing them all back to Max's apartment before heading to Riley's house. The plan was to start having all of her things boxed up and at Max's apartment before they flew out to Austin. Where they would most likely leave everything packed before putting Max's things in boxes too.
Riley walked in her house with Max behind her, holding un-assembled boxes in his hands. Daniel was in the living room sat on the couch waiting for the arrival. Max didn't tell anyone when he was going to propose, it was supposed to be a surprise to all. He just didn't think he'd be the one surprised when everyone already knew.
