Riley was excitedly walking out of her condo with Max and Daniel. But the universe could only let her be happy for so long before taking that away from her. Riley kept purposely walking into Max's shoulder, brushing her hand along his forearm when she talked to him, meeting his eyes every single time.
"Babe!" Riley heard Arthur call from down the street, he was standing outside of his car waiting for her.
"I knew he was going to show up" Max said to Riley, looking in Arthur's direction.
"I guess I'll meet you guys there" Riley said upset. She heard Arthur call her name again which initiated her to start walking towards him. Max watched when she moved a few feet away from him. He looked away before Riley reached Arthur. If he didn't see them together, it's like it wasn't happening.
Arthur held the car door open for Riley. He said something to Riley that she blocked out as she slipped past him and into the car. Riley pulled the door closed before he could. She wanted to ride with Max. Riley wanted a minute alone with him, of course Daniel was going to be there but she planned on blocking him out. She hasn't been able to see him at all alone after that morning when he woke her up. She knew it was going to be hard to see each other, but she didn't think it would be this hard.
Riley sighed when Arthur got into the car and started driving off. He tried holding her hand, she would've let him but they were alone. There wasn't a point. They got stopped at a red light, and Riley saw Max in the car behind them. She looked at Max through the rear view mirror, hiding her smile.
"We need to be more public" Arthur told her, glancing over at her and seeing what she was looking at. Jealousy. That's what he felt when he saw Max behind him.
"Why?" Riley asked him, breaking her gaze from the mirror. "We were never really public before"
"We haven't made a single post together" Arthur made a right turn at the light when he was supposed to go straight. Max kept driving on, but Riley was confused on where Arthur was going. "We need to make a post, and get caught somewhere in public"
"Okay we can take photos tonight or something" Riley shrugged, "I'm not posting them on my private account though, I'm removing all of those"
"Wait until after Monaco"
"I can remove those when I want to" Riley said quietly.
"You still have photos of Max up," Arthur said, "You never removed those"
"Does it matter? He didn't cheat on me." Riley looked at her phone when she was getting a call from Jade. Riley picked it up, her phone automatically connected to the cars speakers. She usually played music in the car, bluetooth just connects to her phone when it enters the car.
"Hello?" Jade said, "Can you hear me?"
"Wait you're on speaker" Riley said, trying to move her off quickly. Arthur was looking over at Riley repeatedly, confused on why Jade was calling her, why she had her number. He knew it meant something, he just couldn't wrap his head around it. Riley hated Jade. Well, now she didn't really have anything against her. The only reason Riley didn't like Jade in the first place was because Arthur. But she didn't like Arthur more so it canceled everything out. "Okay what's up?" Riley said, looking out the window.
"Rye" Arthur whispered, "Babe," He said, trying to grab Riley's attention.
"Julia is here" Jade told her over the phone. Arthur couldn't hear anything Jade was saying. "She came, and Charles is pissed but she won't leave"
"Let her stay" Riley said, "I mean this is what we wanted right?"
"Exactement" Jade said excitedly, "Are you almost here"
