Max had followed Riley to the table Daniel was supposed to be sitting at with Sloan. This raised flags for Riley as she hesitantly sat down, which happened to be next to Charles. Max slid in next to Riley, putting his arm on the booth behind her, receiving a nudge to his side when she didn't want his arm to touch her. Riley kept glancing at everyone at the table, then to the crowd that was off to the side, looking for Sloan. A small ounce of panic started to take over as her chest rose and fell.
"Daniel where's Sloan" Riley cut through the conversation.
"She went to the bathroom" He told her, suddenly feeling like that was a bad idea.
"You let her go alone?" Riley asked quickly, "Max mo-"
"Sorry the line was long" Sloan said as she popped back up at the table next to Arthur. Riley glanced between the both of them, seeing confusion etched onto Arthur's face when he saw the drink in Riley's hand.
Not pregnant.
"The line was long and she was lost" Arthur added, sitting next to her across from Riley. The table quieted down when Arthur's presence was known, there were a few glances thrown to Riley and Max, waiting for a reaction that never came.
"I assumed you were staying with Daniel" Riley told Sloan, feeling her nerves start to ease up.
"I had to go" She said, feeling her body ease up, she sniffed quietly so no one would hear, feeling a small burn in her nose.
"Alright"
"She was fine" Arthur said, "She walked past the table on the way out thinking you were still at the bar"
"Okay" She said, subtly nudging Max's side again, she whispered to him quietly when she continued to feel his arm brush against her skin. "Please don't touch me right now"
"I'm not trying to"
"You said you wanted 'physical space'" Riley reiterated back to him, "So I'm going to give you that"
"I told you thats not what I mean-"
"Trouble in paradise?" Arthur chimed in once the bickering between Max and Riley started up again, "Well that's not a good sign"
Riley looked at Arthur, feeling the subtle glances everyone at the table was throwing her and Max. She shimmied closer to him, feeling uncomfortable under everyone's gazes, especially Arthur's. Max knew that's why she got so close to him, he reacted the same, not giving space for Arthur to get any ideas. Daniel was the only person there who knew exactly what happened between them, minus Noah. But Arthur heard Riley say space, in his mind, Arthur finally had the green light.

Riley was trying to hold in her laugh as she held Sloan's hair up while she emptied all of the alcohol contents into the toilet. Riley was rubbing her back, trying to be as helpful as possible. Riley wanted to walk out of the bathroom to grab a glass of water for Sloan before Daniel got back home. She wanted to avoid running into anyone until morning.
"Okay so you can't drink whiskey" Riley told her, "How much did you drink with Daniel" She accidentally laughed, Riley knew she shouldn't have left her alone for so long, but she was talking to Max.
"I mixed liquors-" Sloan said, and she wasn't proud to admit it, but she did.
Mixed liquors, and substances.
"Oh you dumbass" Riley could help herself and let out a loud laugh. "You and Nathan cannot drink"
"I have before" Sloan said, brushing Riley's hand off of her, "Can you get me a toothbrush?"
