Riley got to Max's apartment a few hours before he did. She used that time to take a shower and find a change of clothes. She didn't have any of her clothes at his place yet. None that were comfortable at least. So she stole a hoodie and sweatpants from Max's closet and drawers. Riley sprayed one of her favorite of his cologne's on his clothes to try and make it smell more like him.

She kept getting a small whiff of it whilst she was cooking dinner. Riley had a glass of champagne in hand, making herself at home. By the looks of it, if they decided, it would be her home too soon enough anyways. It didn't matter how comfortable she got there.

Riley was sitting down at the counter scrolling in her phone with her glass of champagne while she waited for Max to get home. Which was longer than expected. She kept the front door locked out of habit. That was one of the many things she carried to Monaco from Florida. Lock the doors behind you everywhere.

Riley got up quickly when she heard Max knock on the door a few minutes after his car discreetly pulled into his driveway. She stood on her tiptoes to check the peephole, making sure it was in fact Max standing outside.

"Who is it?" She asked through a large smile, keeping her hand on the doorknob.

"The owner of this house" Max said loudly so Riley could hear him.

"The deeds been handed over" She said back, slowing her breathing as she waited for his response.

"There's only one way that's happening Riles"

Riley smiled and opened the door for him. His eyes lit up when he saw her standing in-front of him in his clothes. It only made Max think about the future, how this could be them frequently in a year or two from now. The only difference would be a ring on her finger.

"Don't say it again until you're dropping down on one knee" Riley said softly, moving out of the way for Max to come inside. He jokingly started bending down on one knee, but quickly got pulled up by Riley. "Don't do that!"

"I won't again" He said, grunting when he got back up. "My backs too sore"

"Alright old man" Riley laughed, leading Max to his kitchen. "I made chicken, that's all you had"

"That's fine" He told her, going to the cabinets to grab out two plates. Riley picked up her glass of champagne, stopping Max before he closed the cupboard.

"Wait I'm not hungry" She said, taking a small sip of champagne.

"Well what'd you eat today?"

"I had a cup of coffee earlier" Riley told him, thinking she'd get by. "I'm not that hungry right now"

"That's not enough"

"I'm fine right now"

"Then so am I" He started putting the plates away.

"You just drove around all day!" Riley rushed out when he was putting everything away. "Max eat, I just made everything"

"I'll eat when you're hungry" He said, turning to lean against the counter. Max noticed the tinted red in Riley's cheeks as she tried to figure out what she wanted to do.

"I'll eat later"

"So will I" He said, taking the glass of champagne from Riley for a sip. "Can you pour more in here"
