"No, I don't understand why you're so mad at me-" Riley said in the car on the way to the jet. Alex and Charles were already waiting on it for them to arrive. It took Max and Riley longer to leave the apartment with all of the raised voices and talking. "You act like I'm trying to break up with you- I just want a weekend or two away from cameras"
"That's not my issue" Max told her, driving straight down the highway, "It's how you knew you weren't going to come all week and you're just telling me"
"We've been busy all week!" She said, feeling the car speed up on the highway, "And I wasn't even sure if I wasn't going to..."
"Well," Max said, cursing under his breath when he saw cop lights in his rear view mirror. He started to pull off to the side of the road, knowing Riley was mentally saying 'I told you so' after he hadn't slowed down the past 10 minutes. They were late to their flight, and he didn't want to waste anymore time, but due to the circumstances... "Are you or are you not"
"I'm not" She told him, "And I'm not going to argue with you about it anymore because I'll go to the rest to the races after the summer break."

Max and Riley had a semi-heated conversation on the flight to Milan. Riley continuously said no to attending the grand prix in Hungary. The tension between them diffused by the end of it, Max didn't have any leverage in the conversation, there was no denying that Riley had slowly dropped things she's enjoyed to follow him around. She didn't want to do that anymore. Riley was fine attending the race, she enjoyed watching them and being with him afterwards, but traveling every other week started taking a toll on her after she was trying to get comfortable in Max's home.
Riley was being escorted through the stadium hand in hand with Max with a smile on her face. She ended up wearing a short white sundress that she got when she lived in Miami still. Like she told Max, she didn't need anything new. She wore a pair of cowgirl boots she had that she would normally wear line dancing, pulling the entire outfit together. Debut. It was a must.
Riley put Max in a black button up, not making him do anything too crazy. She managed to get him to wear a pair of baggy jeans opposed to his usual skinny after another short argument over them. But she had already called Kika Prette, there was no backing out. He had a baseball cap on his head Riley ordered that said 'karma' on it. He wore it backwards, which is what Riley usually preferred. It was a gamble seeing if it would come in the mail on time.
"This is insane" Riley looked at her surroundings, it was a near full stadium already.
"Hopefully it's worth the hype" Max mumbled, but Riley couldn't hear him over the music blasting over the speakers and the loud chatter going on around them.
They were following behind a security guard to their seats. Charles started to turn heads of people who recognized him. But their entire group ignored the gazes, already knowing people would be looking until the show started. It was odd being so close to the stage, Riley felt guilty being there without Sloan. She felt so bad she hadn't even told her she was going. But it was every man for themselves.
Her mom called her before she left Charles's apartment, saying Sloan had an attitude lately anyways. It would've been best if Riley kept quiet about it. Max waved at a small group of people that were shouting his name, sliding his hand on Riley's hip in attempt to get her to walk into their barricaded area quicker.
"That was stressful" Max mumbled, walking behind Riley the whole wait to their seats.
"Walking through the paddocks is worse" She said over her shoulder, "Especially when you're no where to be found"
