The young lady tapped the empty bottle against her other hand before tossing it in the recycling bin. Soon, she looked around her surroundings to find an area where not a single person could notice her. Once she arrived at the spot, a quiet jingle rang before she immediately disappeared.

She found herself in a cloud-like setting as if she was floating amongst the clouds. Soon, three small red heart-shaped markings appeared on her forehead. Many others like her also had these markings on their forehead, as they greeted and walked past her. These marks are the representation of being a Cupid's assistant.

She had to report her completed cases to the administrator helpers before she could rest for the remainder of the day.

She passed through a golden gate that led her to a row of desks with many people in front of them and rows of helpers behind the desks. Lucky for her, her assigned administrator helper had no line today. She walked up to the desk.

"Auntie Mo, I'm back," she brightly said.

"Ah, Xiaodan. You're back so early," said a refined middle-aged woman with glasses as her hair was neatly combed back into a smooth bun at the back of her head.

"Of course. You know these cases are first-level cases. So easily done," Xiaodan said, waving her hand as if it was nothing.

"Yes, yes. A 2,200-year-old like you, these cases are easily done," Auntie Mo chuckled.

"I'm surprised that you don't have a line today?" Xiaodan said, looking around as the other helpers were all busy.

"Well, my other cupid's assistants are still busy with their cases," she said nervously. "But I got some news for you," Auntie Mo said, quickly changing the topic.

Xiaodan went quiet at first, as she knew that Auntie Mo assigned Cupid's assistants were busy doing higher level cases, unlike her.

She then smiled, going along with the topic change, "What's the news?"

Auntie Mo quickly glanced around before slowly leaning forward and whispered to her, "I heard that you are getting a big case."

Immediately, Xiaodan cracked up, "Auntie Mo, you are so funny and sweet."

Auntie Mo put a little frown on her face and said, "I'm not lying. I heard it from someone high up."

"Auntie Mo, you know I haven't had a mid-level case in years now, and you know why," Xiaodan said.

"But it's been so many, many years now. You are probably no longer in punishment," Auntie Mo said.

"Wouldn't I be called in then? I haven't heard anything," Xiaodan said.

"Oh...I guess I was hearing things. My bad...," Auntie Mo said softly as she slightly lowered her head.

Xiaodan just smiled and appeased her, "Don't worry, Auntie Mo. It doesn't bother me. It was sweet of you to say. I really do want to get mid-level cases again, but it's no biggie if I don't yet."

Auntie Mo just looked at her and remained silent. Even though it looked like she wanted to say something, she didn't.

"Well, I came here to report the cases I completed today," Xiaodan said, showing her bracelet. Soon, the little heart-shaped bell attachment glowed, and small rays of light flew out of it, creating white folders that were neatly stacked on the desk.

"Alright, I will enter them in and put them away," Auntie Mo said, grabbing the neatly stacked files.

"Do you have my next cases for tomorrow?" Xiaodan asked. Auntie Mo went quiet.

"Umm, they are not up yet. Come back tomorrow," she finally said.

"Alright, thank you," Xiaodan said, not minding the indifference in Auntie Mo's voice. "I'll see you tomorrow, Auntie Mo," she smiled and waved goodbye.

After leaving, Xiaodan let out a light sigh before continuing her way.
