Chapter 10

A whole week went by, and Xiaodan and Li Chyou continued to bond while Xiaodan continued to persuade Li Chyou to tag along with Zhu Haoran and them. Throughout the week, Xiaodan learned more things about each of them. She realized Li Chyou was a straight-A student, always doing her homework or going to the library. She was like a little nerd, eager to learn.

For Feng Yichen, Xiaodan could see his hollow eyes. He was like a walking corpse as if he didn't care or have any motivation to continue. She figured, it might have to do with his family situation. He probably has no desire to be their puppet or have any relationship with them. He was barely passing his classes with the bare minimum since he was always on his phone.

For Zhu Haoran, he was also always on his phone, playing games. He is a very loud and cheerful gamer. He had a carefree spirit and was very friendly, which made it easy for Xiaodan to befriend him.

For Wu Mingze, he was a quiet gentleman. She didn't really have that much interaction with him to fully know him well.

During this time, they were all together. Xiaodan started to think about how she could get Li Chyou and Feng Yichen together. Everyone was busy doing their own thing while they all were waiting for class to start. For instance, Li Chyou had her nose in her homework while Feng Yichen and Zhu Haoran were playing together on their phones, and Wu Mingze had his nose in a book.

Xiaodan felt she was stuck. She didn't know where to start. She didn't know how she could get Li Chyou and Feng Yichen together so she could complete her assignment.

She thought, maybe it's been a long time since she had a mid-level case that she didn't know how to get two people together anymore.

Xiaodan soon thought, it might be best to start with them interacting with each other at least.

"Chyou, I saved you a seat," Xiaodan said to Li Chyou, who had just got out of the line after getting her food. She held her tray in her hand and headed straight towards Xiaodan. She then hesitated to sit down.

"Feng Yichen, is it alright for Chyou to sit beside you?" Xiaodan turned her head towards Feng Yichen and said with a smile.

Feng Yichen stared at her smile and then at Li Chyou before looking at the empty seat beside him. He slightly shrugged, not bothered by her, but Xiaodan continued to stare at him, waiting for his response.

He opened his mouth and spit out, "It doesn't matter to me."
He then took another glance at Xiaodan and Li Chyou before resuming his meal.

"Chyou, sit down," Xiaodan said, patting the empty seat between her and Feng Yichen. Li Chyou quietly sat down and quickly gave an awkward smile to Feng Yichen, which he didn't seem to notice.

Li Chyou felt uncomfortable and thought she might have a hard time eating in peace, but then she noticed the maple leaf patch on his bag. She was surprised that he still left it on. Li Chyou took one more glance at Feng Yichen before she forced herself to stop staring and start eating. Xiaodan quietly glanced at them and felt content as a light smile appeared on her face.

Little did she know, someone noticed her small intention. Wu Mingze noticed her happy smile. He looked at his friend and then at Li Chyou before taking a spoonful of soup in his mouth and continued with his food.

Once they finished eating, they all started heading to the convenience store before they went their separate ways since Li Chyou was planning to go to the library, and Xiaodan planned to tag along with her as well while the rest were heading back to their dorm.

Once they finished purchasing some snacks and left the convenience store, Xiaodan looked at her two assigned people. Everyone was minding their own business. Xiaodan then thought of something.

She quietly sighed in her heart as she knew how stupid this way was, but it was worth a shot, she thought to herself.

Xiaodan then went behind Li Chyou, who happened to be behind Feng Yichen.

A small sound came from Xiaodan's mouth as she supposedly stumbled over a rock and bumped into Li Chyou, causing Li Chyou to fall over as Feng Yichen was supposed to catch her.

However, another pair of hands grabbed both of Li Chyou's shoulders to help balance herself.

"Careful," Wu Mingze said after helping Li Chyou.

"T-thank you," Li Chyou said, bowing her head to Wu Mingze with her cheeks slightly pink.

Meanwhile, Feng Yichen didn't seem to notice Li Chyou and continued on his way. However, Zhu Haoran happened to turn around and notice and hurried over to ask if Li Chyou was okay.

Xiaodan had the urge to do a facepalm to herself as the two people she wanted didn't even interact with each other.
