Chapter 19

The next day arrived, and everyone was in class with their friends. Xiaodan and Li Chyou arrived a little late since Li Chyou had overslept. Zhu Haoran waved at them once he noticed them at the door, and they hurried to the open spots. Li Chyou chose to sit closer to Feng Yichen, making Xiaodan sit next to Wu Mingze.

Once Xiaodan sat down, she smiled nicely at Wu Mingze before pulling out her novel from her bag. When Li Chyou sat down, she quickly pulled out her textbooks and notebook before taking out a small stack of papers.

"Umm...Feng Yichen, here." Li Chyou said, handing over the small stack of papers to him. Feng Yichen glanced at the papers she had in her hands. He noticed there were all handwritten notes.

He wanted to ask what they were, but Li Chyou already answered, "I just realized that you may be a visual learner instead of an audio learner. So, I made these notes for you. Let me know if you need me to clarify any areas."

She gave out a small smile to Feng Yichen. He was slightly stunned as he looked at her neat notes before looking at her. He soon noticed the dark circles under her eyes and immediately remembered what Xiaodan had said.

Li Chyou quietly waited for him to take the papers from her. He didn't say or do anything but looked at her innocent eyes. He hesitantly reached his hand out and grabbed the small stack of papers.

"Thanks," he softly said, accepting them.

Li Chyou instantly smiled again as she felt she made some progress with Feng Yichen. Meanwhile, Xiaodan, Zhu Haoran, and Wu Mingze stared at them, they were quite stunned by Feng Yichen's gesture. Wu Mingze glanced over to Xiaodan, who had a smile on her face as she watched them and thought her deed had paid off.

Soon, the class was over, and they finished getting lunch as they were all in the library once again, supposedly working on their group project. However, instead of doing their group project, Zhu Haoran was playing on his phone. Xiaodan was reading, and Wu Mingze was doing his other assignments. While Li Chyou was finally tutoring Feng Yichen with his full attention. Even though he didn't need her to tutor him, he quietly listened to her teach him how to do their assignments. Xiaodan peacefully looked at them and smiled again before bringing her attention back to her book.

The sun had started setting, and they packed up and started heading back to their dorms. However, before Xiaodan could head to the dorm with Li Chyou, Wu Mingze passed her a note, telling her to meet with him as he wanted to talk to her. Xiaodan quickly told Li Chyou that she had something to do and that she could go on ahead without her. Li Chyou hesitated at first, but Xiaodan assured her before Li Chyou headed to the dorm.

Wu Mingze also said he had to stay behind to finish his assignment and that they could go without him. Both Feng Yichen and Zhu Haoran didn't find anything wrong with that and headed back first.

"What is it that you wanted to talk about?" Xiaodan asked once Wu Mingze and Xiaodan were in a secluded area.

"What did you say to Feng Yichen to make him change so drastically?" Wu Mingze asked.

"I didn't say much. I just told him that if he didn't like Li Chyou trying to teach him, then tell her to stop so she doesn't waste her time on him," Xiaodan simply answered as she found that there was no need to hide it.

"Why? Don't you want them to be together, so why say that?" Wu Mingze said, skeptical.

"Just because I want them to be together. Doesn't mean I want my friend to waste her effort on something useless," Xiaodan answered.

"Since you realized that. Are you going to stop?" Wu Mingze asked, readjusting his glasses.

Xiaodan looked at him and answered with no hesitation, "No."

"What? Why," Wu Mingze asked, not understanding Xiaodan's purpose.

"It's simple. I still think they are a good match for each other. Can't you see? They are pushing each other to step out of their comfort zone," she answered, slightly spewing nonsense, as she was thinking, "It's not like I have a choice."
